Okay first off I want to say I agree with you that this is completely stupid, yes you're right about the contract. But I think you're missing a huge part of this once again. This seems to be the trend of every video I watch of yours. Okay let's assume Steven Crowder is correct, and that the daily wire is in bed the big Tech. What I believe Steven Crowder's trying to say if you're in bed with big Tech, for example Ben Shapiro said he had a phone conversation with the KZitem president or whatever her name is. I think what Steven Crowder's trying to say, that he doesn't trust the daily wire enough not to go to big Tech, just say hey cancel this video demonetizing so we don't have to pay him(Steven Crowder). Because he knows the RIGHT loves slave labor, not if they could get away with not paying you they will.

I don't care about the points Crowder has made in the past. He is just inarguably correct to criticize this contract. DailyWire is a conservative media company. Their stance for the better part of a decade has been that the "censorship" that KZitem and the likes engage in is EVIL. For this company to essentially staple the same terms of that censorship into their contract as an initial offer is inarguably hypocritical. It would be one thing if they began the negotiation with a low operating budget but didn't allude to enforcing EVIL policy unless the employee asked for it. But that's not what DailyWire is doing. They offer a higher operating budget, but enforce EVIL upfront. You can't be a free speech conservative that built a large portion of your fanbase on "fighting the good fight" against big tech, but then only pay out to your partners if they adhere to big tech's rules. Again, as stated all around, the contract seems fine from a business standpoint, but it INARGUABLY contradicts DailyWire's publlicly stated agenda. This is no different than Hasan claiming to be a socialist but then making a multimillion dollar deal with a company owned by Bezos and then using the profits to buy a mansion. You can still like Hasan and still think his opinions are valid, but this behavior is inarguably against the socialist agenda. So is DailyWire's contract.

@Feedmeakitten No, because if you tank your reputation whilst being a DW member and promoted on their channel, they too are likely to get demontinized. Demonetization impacts viewership (shadow banning) and therefore impacts the interest of those companies paying for ad read spots. Also, if Crowder goes off the rails with his takes, it will damage the reputation of the sponsors associated with the daily wire, they'll drop out. Soon, having you on board as a talent becomes a net negative; that's what the clause protects the company from. Why would it be okay for Crowder to make a profit if he causes the brand he's representing to not do so? How is that a justifiable investment for them? Imagine you're running a drop shipping business and paying for the supplier's product costs more than you make from selling it on.

And do you really think youtube ads account for that much of their ad revenue when they do 3 or 4 ad reads a show? If they penalized less and had a clause that with enough stikes and demonetization they simply dissasociate and prorate the rest of the fee with a penalty to account for the hit TDW from setting you up and nlt getting the full value of the contract then sure. Instead they have you bring them all your value for the rest of the duration, own your content produced under them, all while you're working at a loss compared to if you could simply be released at penalty It's a shit deal that shows their more about the profit than the movement. Also the phone call was very disingenuous he recorded that on purpose and jumped out the window on little provocation to put it out publicly. Simply that was a rat move. He has to know DW won’t come back to him and say you know you did just try to expose our whole brand as fraudulent but you were right we are gonna do it your way. So in Stephen's mind, a platform like the Daily Wire is supposed to drop guaranteed revenue from maintaining a presence on established platforms, and just move over Rumble where they are guaranteed to lose money? And not only will they lose money, they will lose potential new viewers if they leave an open platform and go to Rumble's echo chamber.

One thing that Crowder may have going for him is there's many on the right who see the Daily Wire as gatekeepers, i used to listen to Shapiro and Crowder around 2016-2018, i will say i did think Crowders cenk uygur impersonation hilarious

Yeah he sees his own niche/value in the market and wants to take it up for himself and be his own DW/Blaze/boss of others. All the offer did was make him realize his potential worth and the amount of money he could make by making his own media outlet

How is the Daily Wire gatekeeping? They’re very supportive of other conservative platforms. Yes, they’re in the business of doing business to an extent, but the money that they generate from their content is used to fund other initiatives that are changing the culture. Daily Wire has done so much. From making documentaries, Children’s books, movies, shows, contributing to local communities. I can’t think of anything tangible that Crowder has done other than argue and spark controversial debates with his Change My Mind segments.
