Thank you for your kind compliment. ❤️🙏 Our big TV works perfectly for us and our lifestyle… we do lots of entertaining in our large outdoor living space… we move our TV outdoors regularly for movie night’s under the stars and sports events… Go Dolphins & Falcons! 🏈 Aesthetically, it totally works for us because one big TV isn’t our focus when we have so much beauty and nature around us. 👍👍🏽 Also, the stand we purchased the stand not only because of how attractive we found it to be, but also because of its high ratingng for safety, secure-footing and stability… and we purchased a stand spec’d for a TV larger than our television. 👍🏽👍 Also, Fin enjoys her “in-her-face” ID Channels episodes. 👍👍🏽🤣 Wishing you great success in all your endevoirs and happiness with your own personal interior design decisions. 🙏🙏🏽

@Belovedcabin

Great question…👍🏽👍 We chose to live in AG Zone 8a here in Middle-Georgia due this area typically having mild summers & winters… and we love the year around growing seasons… in fact we haven’t seen snow here in years and the last time it did snow it melted within hours. We also have inside our 304sqft Beloved Cabin a full-house solar thermal heater and a Dutch West high-efficiency catalytic converter wood burning stove that is rated for an 800sqft house… plus our greenhouse-kitchen & greenhouse-bathroom warms themselves during the day during winter when all the leaves drop and the sun naturally warms the inside and we close all the vents (this is why we built our greenhouse-kitchen and greenhouse-bathroom on the south side of our cabin). Inside our cabin, we installed R-13 insulation in the walls & covered with drywall; and we used foam insulation on the ceiling & covered with painted .25” plywood. (We insulated the ceiling between the rafters because we want to see the rafters as part of our design and to add a little more head clearance up in the lofts between the rafters.) 👍 After 11.5 years, we really enjoy the temps and environment we have both inside and around our homestead throughout the year. 🙏🙏🏽🥰 - Fin & John - 🙏🏽+🙏=❤️

We live in AG Zone 8a, so we typically have mild summers… During the summer, we have the air circulation vents open on both ends, as well as the air vents running full length under soffit. We also have an amazing shade from the tree canopy and live on a 19K surface-acre lake with 347 miles of shoreline that constantly produces cool breezes. Inside our cabin, we have also have 9KBtu AC unit, but we rarely use it. We used R-13 insulation in the walls & covered with drywall; we used foam insulation on the ceiling & covered with painted .25” plywood.

Thank you 🥰👍👍🏽 We’re above the Georgia Gnat Line so swirling and swarming bugs typically aren’t an issue. When mosquito season kicks we’ve been going into high gear for years now… bat houses, certain plants (citronella, lemon grass, basil, mint, thyme & others), larvae eating fish in our ponds, constantly moving water in our ponds, making sure we don’t have any still or stagnant water in containers anywhere outside, our chickens free-range during the day, and some other techniques such as a circulating fans (we prefer our Vornado fans) & ThermaCells for keeping the bug population at bay and reducing the opportunity for them coming into our cabin. Oh, and John makes these amazing citronella oil lamps out of old fancy bottles he finds at the dump… but of course our biggest pest control technique are our CATS! 😸🐈🐈⬛😸👍🏽👍 Also, some people assume we can’t, or don’t, close our doors & windows during bug season… but like most folks we do close our windows and doors when we want to. 👍👍🏽😊

When we started out we sold all our belongings to begin our journey… and we didn’t spend all our money and do everything 12 years ago, but instead began our journey 12 years ago living in an old 1978 29’ Coachman camper John had bought in 2005 for $700 to use on his hunting and fishing trips… and we have been building & adding ever since… We started off over 12 years ago leasing 81 acres of land for 4 years at $1.2K ($1,200) annually while we built our cabin and look for land to live this lifestyle legally… we then purchased our first 3.16 acres in 2015 located here in Middle-Georgia 🇺🇸 for $5K that we found on Zillow. We then began researching and buying adjoining land… we purchased to last of our land in 2019 and now have a total of 16.2 acres. Our original shed-to-home conversion cost us $6.5K for the empty shed shed and $6K to do the original full conversion (grand total of $12.5K for our home. 👍👍🏽🥰 We spent an additional $6K in January 2023 to build our greenhouse-kitchen addition and in 2019 we spent $1.5K to build our greenhouse-bathroom👍🏽👍😊

@@Belovedcabin I’m wondering if the 2x4 floor joists are enough to hold the weight of furniture and traffic in a shed home for years to come. I think traditional houses are 2x8 floor joists.

@@joannemoser3443 Oh no… the floor joists in our shed-to-home conversion are 2”x8” and secured on top of with 6”x6” skids. 👍🏽👍

@joannemoser3443 No, we are not builders in the sense we build and sell to others… everything we build is for our use here in our 16-acre Beloved Cabin Tiny House Homestead & Stay 👍🏽👍😊😊

how does it work with no insulation in the ceiling?
@Belovedcabin
Жыл бұрын
We can’t comment on it works with “no” insulation, but we can comment how it works “with” insulation… We used R-13 insulation in the walls & covered with drywall; we used foam insulation on the ceiling & covered with painted .25” plywood. (We insulated the ceiling between the rafters because we want to see the rafters as part of our design and to add a little more head clearance up in the lofts between the rafters.) 👍 So “with” insulation it works very very well both during our winters and our summers.

Firstly, when we started out we sold all our belongings to begin our journey… and we didn’t spend all our money and do everything 12 years ago, but instead began our journey 12 years ago living in an old 1978 29’ Coachman camper John had bought in 2005 for $700 to use on his hunting and fishing trips… and we have been building & adding ever since… We started off 13 years ago leasing 81 acres of land for 4 years at $1.2K ($1,200) annually while we built our cabin and look for land to live this lifestyle legally… we then purchased our first 3.16 acres in 2015 located here in Middle-Georgia 🇺🇸 for $5K that we found on Zillow.

Thank you 😊👍🏽👍 IKR? … the true definition of a tiny house is 400sqft and smaller. Our 12’x30’ Beloved Cabin shed-to-home conversion is 304sqft and the additions of our greenhouse-kitchen and greenhouse-bathroom makes our total square footage almost 500sqft. 👍🏽👍 How small is your home? Did you build your tiny house yourself or use a builder? We’re always interested in what others are doing in their tiny lifestyle? 😊👍🏽👍 - Fin & John - 🙏🏽+🙏=❤️ - - - - -

We can’t comment about every time house you’ve seen, but we designed and built our home for us and for what we like. Fin loves natural light and we love the outdoors, so we designed and built our home for ourselves and based solely for us and what we like… just as we assume you decorate and design your home for yourself. 👍👍🏽😊

Thank you! So glad you recognize all the effort and hard work we put in to downsizing our houses in south-Florida and in the UK into a 6.5’x10.5’ size space. It really took us a lot of time and a lot of work deciding on what winter gear, John’s hunting equipment, tools, camping/survival gear, and so many other materials & equipment to either keep or discard. Thank you for your observation in recognizing how we were able to down-size so many thousands of square feet of belongings into only 68.25sqft. 👍🏽👍😊
