For the chainring lockring.. it isn't exactly 1pc like in this video. It is 3pcs. There is a thin metal spacer on the arm side, then the main lockring, and then a small rubber/metal spacer ring seal. If it comes off the lockring during maintenence, the metal side goes against the lockring, and rubber side goes against the bottom bracket after talking with Shimano.

Hi Eric, you only need to use an 8mm to install or remove it from the bike, the 8mm nut is designed to stay in the non drive crank arm and a 11 spline bit socket is used if it needs to be replaced.

Thanks for the info, I can’t believe there are ZERO instructions included in the box. At the very least there should be a checklist of the items and what they do. I can’t believe Shimano charges this much money and can’t supply some basic instructions. The paperwork in the box is just some useless garbage.
@PetrSedlacek

Yeah, that is a shame. Especially because you can get *excellent* detailed instructions in PDF on si.shimano.com - the "DM" one. Not sure why they don't just print them off and include them in the box.
@Freddy3792

@@PetrSedlacek They already have so much paperwork in there so I am happy they don't generate even more waste. For some parts the DM is very long. They should just include a card with a QR code or some information where you can find the DM.

@@Freddy3792 You're right, I agree that would be better. The paperwork they do include is usually pretty useless (although it might be required by law). So a QR on the box with a link to the PDF would be ideal.
