Shirley Temple... My mothers name was Shirley. Born 1933. She could dance a lindy hop, sing, artistic, kept a lovely home, sunday school teacher and you were an influence on her life. She became active in Mental Health and NAMI in 1980. I know she had an incident with an older brother that she tried not to let influence her decisions like that crap wants to do. I cant imagine the deep strength of character, the deep down knowing who you are and whats right and wrong but... It was the Depression! America NEEDED her character! She did a lot in her life! Service to others was instilled in this generation and they made it look easy! Selfless .. grace personified. If she has kids checking comments sometimes, i want to say Thank You for her! Betty White as well. Something about the upbringing, the times, their personality... My favorite Aunt too. Knit, sew, cook, clean, decorate for holidays! I found the time to do maybe half of what they did .. no. Less than half. What they could do in four hours took me six and i didnt look as put together as these women did. Roslyn Carter. Nancy Reagan. She kept Ronnie on track and because of her, he was able to keep his dignity and appear more competent than he was. She had the schedual, the back room discussions, the laws, the staff... All in her head as shhe subtly held his mind and goals tight with her help. These are women that carried the country and its peoples, whether anyone believes it doesnt matter. Ladies, we all know a few classy mothers or grammas and aunts that were everything a husband, family, society and the times demanded of them. They volunteered to help communities! They even made time for their lives... Wish i had more of the genesequa they had.

It was the early seventies. The three networks in tv would play old 1930s (apparently?) Reels on those early Sunday mornings. Spanky and our gang; Blondie; Shirley temple! We would pretend to tap dance in our pretty frilly church outfits and Patton leather shoes; now , I feel as old fashioned as we kids thought those film shows were!

I said it before like I did in another post of this moment for Shirley Temple Black & that is young girls should look up to her as a role model & not what is out there today like the Kardashians, & the other entertainment women out there. She truly was a icon & a trail blazer. Look how she handled herself & conducted her self. Total class act with grace & humbleness. I have never heard anyone speak a bad word about her.

Wonderful tribute. Even if i never saw Shirley's movies as a kid, most of them i saw during my senior year of high school and summer before college. They provided young at heart joy in a time when i needed it the most. Shirley Temple Black was born April 23, born a Taurus (representing traits of stability in our Solar System)... and as a Child she already became the solid Rock that never rolled down. ( this meaning is in the Stairway To Heaven lyrics towards the end: We will be as a 'Rock that never Rolls' ( meaning to step further up the Stairway To Heaven: She is and was a huge stabilizing force to the World , by not allowing humanity to roll downward in that great time of World Need) As a child performer, she won the Hearts of All. Uniquely skilled, filled with the vigor and vitality of a Child of God..she served like a Princess as well as the Colonel. She was Real, I'd say 'A Child of the Universe'....and Real she was as the Ambassador to the efforts of World Peace. I cried as the children representing the world, sang "Let there be Peace on Earth". I see her face in this tribute as a great Human Being smiling graciously, humbly, in receiving this Kennedy Center Award. I get goosebumps in recognizing she is an Angel Ambassador to Earth, now. I can see this in her Eyes. Earth life was like College. She earned Degrees in Heaven ahead of us who are attempting staying on the Stairway To Heaven in this world of crisis we now live in. As she passed away in the Solar Sign of Aquarius, what better management could we have gifting to us for those, too, who desire to also be a Rock that never Rolls. We have the option to choose our Way of Travel. Thank U Shirley Temple Black for helping our world to grow in Love and Good Will to All. That's the kind of spit fire spark and of wholehearted virtue Shirley ignited to the World. How fortunate for your children and husband to have grown with the most humane morals in this life you served. Aloha~Shirley Temple Black, Ambassador to Heaven ❤
