I saw Bob at yong gi gol in korea in 1970, the tougnest part of the show was when he asked us all to stand and join hands singing Silent Night. I was barely 20 yrs old and 15000 miles from home and alone with 10000 other men around me. It still brings tears to eyes 50 years later.

Can you imagine a celebrity today being as dedicated as Bob Hope was to the military? Never in a million years

Gary Sinise and his Lt. Dan Band went to those hot zones to play for the troops. It wasn't comedy for the most part, just great music and a feel of home. Saw him in Bagram Afghanistan in 2009. He is no Bob Hope, but he is doing his best!

I thought i heard somewhere that Bob Hope said his greatest award was being made the first and only honorary veteran. He did so much for our military and deserves all the accolades, respect, and love he received from the United States. It's a shame that in a generation or two people will forget about what a wonderful American he was.

Bob is an American treasure, the look that Nancy gives Bob after two of the veterans testimonials says it all - “we hope you know the affect you’ve had on this country and how much you are loved and adored by America” His impact on generations of Americans cannot be duplicated, this video reminded me that his signature song is perfect - thanks for the memories…..

I would always say my name backwards is y-b-bob...Mom would send me Dear Bob letters when I was in trouble...but Bob Hope is a darn good reason to be BOB, it is never backwards! A national hero despite the divisions of politics and his staunch support for everything American, even when we erred. We all need to be as faithful to American, even when we disagree. God Bless his Soul and all of you. Bobby Didion

I was fairly young when I knew who this Bob Hope was that my parents use to talk about. Every Christmas season I couldn't wait to see the Bob Hope Christmas special. We got to see the places he went to entertain the troops. Lately I've told my mother that some of the people who got to see one of his shows might have been their last because they were either killed shortly afterwards or wounded and couldn't remember. It took someone special to go to these places and entertain.
