A couple years ago I did the self-check out at Walmart, got to the car and realized a jar of miracle whip lite hadn't been paid for. It was lying loose in the cart, and I didn't remember scanning it. Checked the receipt and I hadn't. This happened while I was transitioning out of a wheelchair after an accident. So I hobbled back into the store with the mayo to pay for it. The greeter helped me into a motorized cart so I wouldn't have to walk to the register. I then scanned and paid for it. I figure if I can do that, others who are able bodied should. Or, call and make arrangements to pay next time they're at the store, as you did, if they'd already left. I am glad to 'know' someone of your integrity! I wish you all the luck with your channel!

We are good examples to our children when we are honest in our dealings. Once when my son was in grammar school, he brought something home that we did not pay for in the store. After I found out, we immediately went back to the store for him to apologize and let me pay for it. He told me later he would always remember that day, which was my intent. Honestly is the best policy.

Checked the receipt and not paid for. I wrote down the PU number on my hand and went back in. (I recently had a back injury at the time and wasn't thrilled about going back in, but I wasn't a thief either.) Thankfully the lines were gone and I got the same cashier. Most grocery stores don't care as it will all even out anyhow. But $36 is different. When I do online shopping and then pickup, If I get extra of something, which happens often - like say a big bag of tomatoes instead of a few, then I'll call the store. They always say don't worry about it, and I get to keep it for free. Saved trip, gas and I love freebies! This is only with the pickup feature though, I'm not sure about the normal shopping. After the third time that happened though, I realized that was always going to be their answer and there was no need to repeat the calling in.

I would have done the same, but let the little ones go. There are several stores in the city that I have not checked out for groceries. I also found out that there is a co-op here and they have a lot of organic foods + bulk. I have a month PT for my knee and then I should be able to get around fairly well. My goal is to check out all of these stores and see if any of them can be added to my grocery runs. I was really only going to Aldi's and Food Lion. I don't like going into Walmart but I will use their grocery pick-up when needed... which is what I had been doing since the middle of November when I broke my kneecap. Luckily between my son and my neighbors I have been able to get people to pick up the groceries from Walmart and bring them to me as I was unable to drive. Every so often I find something good at the Dollar Tree. I can't wait to get back out into the stores to continue my Frugal Journey. Thanks for inspiring us all! 💕💜💕💜💕

Teen boys are bottomless pits! I would have bought the powdered milk for emergency supplies, but I don't have much of it on hand right now. When I was at Aldi on 1/31, there were tons of hamburger buns packages, expiring 2/4, that had .50 off stickers, making them just .35 a pack. I grabbed a bunch for my freezer and am kicking myself for not buying up another 10 or 20 for the local food pantry, since you can freeze them. Hopefully next time I will have that thought while I'm there instead of later, at home (the store is about 45 minutes away, so there's no running back to grab those). Wow! Great haul Wendy! I wish we had a 99cent store. I see so many people getting great bargains there. Sometimes I buy things for the jar too 😆👍

I thought of you when I saw the jars, Ellen because I know you like jars too. The story of the jar that kept getting recycled 😂 and the Aldi olive jar that you mentioned in one of your videos. Too funny.

I would have returned and paid for the cheese as soon as I discovered the error. I would call about the sausages and offer to make good on them the next time I was in the store, and would be sure to do so. The forgetting to present the rewards/discount card is your error and so is on you. Too many people don't realize that grocery stores operate on a slim profit margin as it is. And no, I wouldn't buy the Nutella just because the jars are cute. If you didn't need them before, you don't need them now.

I agree with the Nutella jars, they have no use, leave on the shelf.

@@TheFrugalMinimalist I'm full of trivia Alex would probably approve of. I happen to love Jeopardy but we're a little behind - season 35, episode 65 just aired. Not up to the gambler who broke the jeopardy house yet

Hi for toiletries we stock up on when there are sales. I haven’t checked our sheet but if I remember correctly it averages to ~$30 per month.
