The hosts at 80 seem to be playing the game more organically. Fewer dedicated ganks and grace goblins, haven't cleared out the entire area of PVE. Only real downside is you don't see a lot of build variety -- whole lotta Bloodhound Fang duos. I do wish more people at that level would realize the DLC is very doable at 80 once you get a few Scadu levels.

Biggest hurdle is honestly Mohg at 80 with the “correct” weapon level. Anything below sort of max weapon level means you have to REALLY learn his fight. Now the DLC is SUPER doable. Scadutree frags scale your damage in a way that it feels a lot more forgiving than underleveling through the base endgame.

@@incendiarypoprocks8700best way I found to fight mohg without learning the moveset at low weapon levels is to summon a +10 dungeater and spam the black knife ash or reduvia. Edit: you’ll dodge most of his moveset if you always dodge right.

@@TheAzul_Indigo Swarm of flies spam, poison mist with rot pots and mimic tear/tiche is how I brute force my way through the game when making builds. Like you just kite the boss for 10 minutes while the DoTs do their thing. You can be level 20 and want some DLC weapon for your build and it's totally achievable because of how easy it is to cheese Elden Ring.
@TheAzul_Indigo

@@Velumbra Tiche is hard to come by early game- you gotta get radhan and astel first before you can even fight Alecto. Mimic is out because if you have 40 vigor then so does your mimic. You only gotta get into Leyndell to get Dungeater: he keeps agro, does bleed buildup, and has a enemy debuff that gives him big hyperarmor.

Most players can’t beat mohg at level 80 with +17 weapons. I’m sure there’s also a lot of people at level 80 with +24 and +9 weapons who are speed running the game but they won’t be in your invasion bracket anymore. A very sneaky level range that’s actually very active for people just playing through the game is level 99 +25/+10. A lot of people know how to get all of the smithing stones quickly and at level 99 they’re still just playing through the game. You die much quicker though, but at least people aren’t pushing level 150 with capped out damage stats and max scaling yet. If you tried out that level range I’d build your character like a level 80 and really focus in on your vigor and Stam because the upgrade level of your weapons will carry most of the damage anyway

Have you tried doing "host invasions"? What I mean is that I have been working on a couple of characters for pvp, and to avoid the boredom of playing the game again twice, I go through the dungeons solo with a taunters tongue. This is as close to a solo host invasion as it gets, and I think it can add flavor to pvp gamers going through the game again while they get their stuff. And the important part for me is that I am opening another world to the invaders out there, since the player base is getting a bit low these days and I hope its nice to the invaders to have a solo host that wont die in 2 hits once in a while.

For invaders as long as you’re actually playing the game and not being a loser I think anything is welcome. As far as the activity goes I’m on Xbox, which already has the lowest playerbase, and I recently made a level 25 invasion character. It’s slightly twinked in regards to the flasks and the extra talisman slots. But as far as weapons and armor go I’m sticking to only limgrave items. All this to say my goal isn’t to just demolish new players, but the activity down there is non stop. And a cool side effect is the fact that every invasion isn’t just complete magic and AOE spam that one shots you. The fights are longer, you actually get to invade fun areas like castle morne, stormveil and caria manor, 90% of the time people are actually playing the game, and there’s hardly any dedicated gank squads. It’s very casual and very fun, the biggest hurdle being the overleveled phantoms, but in my case I have a cold infused banished knight sword with stormcaller to melt overaggressive overleved phantoms. But the activity is constant, I basically get instant invasions no matter what day or time it is. If you’re looking for activity I’d give that a shot.

@@DreyfusLagoon I'm currently on PC only but yes, I personally think low level PVP is better as high level PVP is not balanced for the damage and ashes of war that you can use over there. Absolute proof fromsoftware knows this but refuses to even the odds are the NPC fights in their games. Any NPC would have 10 times as much health just so the fight can be an actual fight. But god forbid pvp having quality of life fetaures. Anyways, I am liking the solo taunters tongue while I'm actually getting stuff done in the base game. At least that way I can make sure there are no forced 2v1s or gank squads and I can have some pvp with the boys. Only downside is when the fire knight helm tryhard gets in and twinks his antspur rapier in limgrave, god I dislike those guys.

@@Broax4 solo taunters is fun but it showed me the reality of what most co opers have to deal with and why invaders Gardner so much hate online. People are so hell bent on using the most optimal setups that it gets boring getting invaded by 3 people in a row who are poise stacking meta slaves. For me, every single build is made with pvp in mind, I’m not using the most optimal stuff but I definitely understand what’s good in pvp and how to get the most out of my stat investments. But I’d say at least 60% of people invading don’t care about any of that and all run the same strength or dex builds that Steel and Jenny use. Nothing wrong with those builds either they are certainly effective but it gets so old when most of the invaders are using that crap meanwhile I’m trying to roleplay as Vilhelm from ds3 on a FTH/INT build which is not nearly as competitive.

You stuffing that host in the corner at the end was pretty gnarly ngl 😂 I recently started a new character to try out the lower bracket pvp, as I was tired of the higher “bracket babies” I like to call them, cause it doesn’t take much skill to kill in that scenario so with my lower level character (that 139 sweet spot) if I am defeated in combat, I can actually admire my opponent 😌 Good video btw

Alright! Quick math! What does 60 vigor, erdtree favor +2, crimson amber +3 and crimsonspill tear equal? 2499 HP! That's right! You now have the HP of a rune arced host except you're not the host but instead a red, a blue or a co-op phantom. I do this at level 80 with the dragon hunter great katana, though.. I'm not sure why exactly the giant weeb stick does decent damage with only 23 str/dex on a vigor fiend build but it does and it's nice.

In ds3 it was 60 +6. Stayed there and beat the game, went into NG+ I was doing enough damage to kill over leveled phantoms, but not so OP, I could still die easily if I got careless. My first pvp build I ever made was a level 80 +16 str fire build. Not the best. Still need a sorseal for it to work so I'm squishy. But I have the best invasions at that level. I get a lot of teammates ranging from Rl 60 to 90. Mid level has always been the best place to invade imo.

I stopped doing low level invasions because even at 70 +7 + 17 with super high physical defense, hella minmaxed, password phantoms were still able to one shot me. Became way too common. All the password phantom has to do is press l2 once and it’s pretty much over.

Absolutely! 60 vigor, erdtree +2, crimson amber +3 and crimsonspill tear for the physick gets ya 2499 HP. What about damage though? Wouldn't it be terrible? Yes, but this can be fixed with the multi-hit talismans, weapons with innate bleed or a str weapon like a colossal. I bet you could also fix the damage issue with that two-handed sword talisman or a poison/rot set-up, but I've yet to try it.

Also crab. Boiled crab makes you stupidly bulky for absolutely no reason and you can put it on anybody for free. You just buy them from a merchant, can carry 99 of them and they'll bump you up to 30%~ish physical damage negation. I like the drake knight and bloodhound knight set because they're light and look nice, but boiled crab lets me get away with it because it's just that strong.
