This video was a huge help to me as well. My experience with the soft, lock tight(ed), easily strippable screws was no problem at all. I decided to try applying a hot soldering iron to the interior side of the screws while turning them and to my surprise they turned with very little force required. Even in this scenario the screws did show some immediate wear, so instead of re-using them, I replaced them with an allen style screw in case I need to pull the motor again some day. Thanks Vinnie!

Soldering iron applied to the head of the bolt melts away the locktite. Also, a $5 motor replaces the motor inside the actuator module. You don't need to buy the whole module. I did that on the passenger side sliding door about 7 years ago and it worked. Today I am fixing the driver's side sliding door and will be utilizing the same technique. Don't forget to get two suction cups from hardware store. They come in handy for holding glass window.

Thanks so much for putting this detailed video together. It gave me the motivation to deal with a problem I have had for a few years. I would add that I followed Moshe Arctic‘s recommendation and was able to perform the the repair without removal of the mechanical panel. Removing all but the back two bolts, loosening those, gave enough working clearance. I used a PH2 Philips drive in a ratchet wrench and was able to remove the two mounting bolts. For those considering this project, taking this approach took under an hour from start to finish. Also, the actuator can be found on Amazon for $20.99.

Great video! Everything went as described. Check out other videos that explain how to replace the motor in the actuator. Cost me 5 bucks instead of $125 from the dealership. The 2 hardest parts of the job were the actuator mounting screws (do as Vinnie describes) and aligning the window. Window tip- tighten the screw closest to the back first. It's the easy one. Then stick your finger through the hole and manipulate the track onto the window. Tighten it up and move on! Very informative video. Thanks!!

Awesome, thank you for the video, the dealership would probably charge $500.00 to repair that, you saved us a ton of money..

Just completed this on my 2006 Sienna and all went very well. Thanks for posting this awesome video. I called the dealership to get a price on how much the repair would cost - they refused to talk to me and even told me the actuator part did not exist....... those "stealerships" are nasty folks I tell you.

Thank you very much for creating this video. I fixed my 2004 Sienna using the steps shown in this video. The tip on how to hold the windows up using the wood blocks is awesome! There are two additional things that I'd like to add for those who are going to attempt this: 1) after removing the two bolts holding up the windows mechanism, you will need to use the power window control to roll it down a bit to separate the windows from mechanism so the big black panel can become accessible - duh moment for me; and 2) use the mini torch gun in heat up the screws for about 1 or 2 of 30-second sessions to melt the blue Loctite before removing the servo unit, which will prevent you from stripping the screws (found this tip on another video). Thanks again for the video and hopefully these two additional tips will help. Part numbers: 85620-08061 for passenger side and 85620-08071 for driver side. Good luck!

Window doesn’t even need to be held up or even come out if you use correct tools

FYI: those two screws are stripping for you because you're using a Philips screwdriver. This is a Japanese vehicle which means it doesn't have Philips or Pozidrive screws, it has JIS screws.

Great video! did both sides in an hour and a half. You can use a butane torch to heat the screws. It softens the locktite for an easy removal.

Thanks, man. Awesome description. Turned out, I hope, that the electric connection into the actuator was intermittent because when I took it out and put it back in, it started working. So I worked it back and forth to seat it, it seemed to be ok. It did not have a lock clip or notch of any sort, so I don't know about that. We'll see. Anyway, great detail in your video. Like how to get the trim pin out. I previously did a cable replacement on my other door, driver side. Boy, was that fun!! Ouch. Unfortunately I broke the plastic bracket at the bottom rear of the panel. I guess I missed having to take that screw out. I did it ok in my previous time.

You don't need to yank out completely the mechanical panel. It's a pain to detach all those cables and wires and then put it back. Don't mind about the bolts that holds the lever of the window. The window will not fall. You can align it back using the mechanism of up and down. Just leave the last two bolts on the rear and you can bend the panel forward so that you have enough space to use a stubby drill to take off those two screws that holds the actuator. But be careful not to screw up the heads of the screws since they are a pain to get when it's rounded. I did mine using this video. kzitem.info/news/bejne/yqx5louai4acgY4.
