London saw the biggest ever gathering of Sikh Olympians at Trafalgar Square, London on Sunday 24 April 2005. The occasion was the third annual festival of Vaisakhi which attracted over 15,000 people to this festival.
The 2005 Vaisakhi theme was to celebrate the achievements of Sikh Olympians. and supporting the 2012 Olympic bid.
Twenty-five Sikh Olympians, who have competed in Hockey for Great Britain, India, Kenya and Uganda, attended the event, One Sikh Olympian, who has competed in Wrestling for Great Britain, and one Sikh Olympian who competed in Weightlifting for Great Britain attended the event.
