In this Physics video lecture in Hindi for class 11 we explained how a simple harmonic motion is projection of a uniform circular motion. During that we derived the equation for the displacement from the mean position for a simple harmonic motion and then we derived the equation for velocity by differentiating the expression for displacement with respect to time. When we again differentiate, we get the expression for acceleration. And there we found that the acceleration is proportional to the displacement. Therefore, we can say, the equation is valid for a simple harmonic motion. And hence, we say, the projection for a uniform circular motion is a simple harmonic motion.
