Thank you sooo much! I almost was lost with the book and these kinds of sampling. Your work in the KZitem videos really helped me a lot to figure out the idea.

For simple random sampling, the first step you must take is number all of your population, which in this case is 30 . There are a number of ways to get a srs, one of which is to put all 30 of these numbers in a hat and randomly pick out 10 numbers which will the be your sample. You could also get a srs through the use of technology- a random number generator can be used on a calculator. As the numbers are randomly generated they should be matched against the number in the population until there are 10 people from the total population have been selected. If the random numbers generator repeats any numbers you must ignore them and continue to chose a different number.

@@andrewmutazua9567 yea they are selected randomly Like picking a number from a hat 30 number would be placed in the hat And the first 10 number you take out of the hat would be your sample

SRS is used if you really don't care who or what is in your sample. If you don't mind a sample of 20 females as opposed to 20 males or 10 of each or any other combination, then SRS is easy and very common.

I thought the same... I think that would come up if you are using an Excel formula (or something similar) to select random numbers. Otherwise, I don't see how you could pick a number twice from a hat.

Jesus Ivan Garcia random would be like a selection via lottery. Say there are 20 people and only 1 will be chosen. All have equal chances of being chosen but only 1 will get chosen. I'm simple, the selections are more randomized though the population has the chances of being chosen as he stated with the paper in hat. All have the chance but it can vary

Thank you good explanation but i have a question . how do you explain the fact that each member of your population has an equal and independent chance of being selected. Is it by the fact that you choose the numbers from your hat without knowing which one is coming up (blinding)???
