Hello! I'm starting a new series on how to make a senior black lab (mix). This video is part one and starts with how to make a very simple (but effective!) wire armature, how to cover it with core wool, how to shape the body and head and how to add eyes.
If you are a beginner to needle felting, this is for you! Actually, even if you've been needle felting for a long time, I'll bet there might be something here for you to learn, too. And speaking of learning, I'm always open to your thoughts and feedback, so please feel free to comment!
I'm Jules, and I'm an obsessed needle felter who loves making whimsical miniature versions of people's pets. I still think sculpting with wool is magic.
The core wool in this video is from Farm Girl Arts: www.etsy.com/shop/FarmGirlArts
The heavy duty black-tipped needle I use to make the initial eye-holes comes from Felt Alive (my favorite place to buy needles!) feltalive.com
5mm glass eye kit I use in this video

The felting kit the awl came from (this kit also came with black plastic eyes, noses and a bunch of other useful things):

The glue (which I love because it dries quickly and is not messy) aleenes.com

I made this channel to document my needle felting journey, and show you all of the tips and tricks I'm learning along the way. I REALLY want to learn and do better, so please hit me up with comments and feedback! I'm constantly learning and I also follow a bunch of felters on KZitem, and I think you should follow them, too! Here are some of my favorites:

Thank you so much for stopping by!
