You know what would impress me? If Milanote could read your storyboard text and use it to generate AI image sketches for each note. That would make it a killer app.

Danny, I wish I could have seen this video explanation when I first tried Milanote. Milanote is like a blank piece of paper that you can do anything with it. I just looked at it and thought "What do I do with this?" This video is so helpful because you show us how you create a storyboard and you show us that it does not have to be perfect and only conveys the idea of what the shot looks like. Happy New Year!

Loved this video! You touched a bit on something that I got as a piece of advice a couple years ago that's been super helpful for my projects: the more comprehensively you complete a given phase of production, the more efficient the subsequent steps become. In other words, if you don't lock off each step as a finished one, you shouldn't move to the next step. Finish your script, THEN move to pre-production. Finish all the pre-production steps, and THEN figure out shoot dates. And definitely don't start color-grading or sound-designing until you are satisfied with the edit. Some things can be hard to implement into this process, such as the fact that pre-production involves finding locations, which ultimately results in setting a schedule up, but I think the point is that you should defer those kinds of things to the end of the respective phase to make sure that you've got a project that is fulfilling it's purpose before you rush onward to the next step. Typically, rushing(or alternatively a lack of planning) has been the reason some of my projects earlier on didn't succeed in the ways I wanted them to. Huge fan of your approach to this whole 'filmmaking' thing.

Very nice video, I love the causy vibe here 😁 I'm actually building a storyboard software, some kind of mix between shot designer and a 3D approach inside Unreal Engine. Based on your experience in filmmaking, do you think that's something you might be inclined to use or would you rather stick to storyboard with images like you've shown in this video ? I'd love to discuss your pre production process and see how I could on my side improve the software
