*** 1 Seaglet is missing from the nest ** We only see 1 Seaglet on the nest. Where is the missing seaglet? Could it have branched elsewhere or fell off the tree? Other birders have searched the bottom of the tree but did not find anything.
Crows are the gangsters of the Singapore sky. We can see them attempting to swarm the nest and one of them attacks a WBSE parent. Maybe they are also nesting, who knows.
Highlights:
0:00 Parent is eating on the branch.
25:00 Crows start to move close to the nest. Seaglet doesn't seem too concerned.
29:50 Parent flies off, crows all follow. At this distance of over 150m, it is not possible to hear honking.
30:00 Parent returns to same spot and looks around. Appears to be honking, but can't be heard at this distance.
31:30 Parent preens a bit while looking around.
32:00 Crow dive bombs parent, parent takes off and returns a few seconds later
32:50 Parent takes off.
33:10 Parent returns to another branch. This might be the other parent.
42:20 Parent Poop Shoot
45:00 Parent flies off, crows also seen flying.
46:40 Crows start to perch on the branches & twigs above the nest. Seaglet tracks them flying around but we don't see beak moving (honking) or wing slapping. Too innocent maybe?
Parent later returns to a branch, out of the field of view of the camera. I do not monitor the camera all the time while filming so didn't zoom out to capture this.
1:21:30 Seaglet Wingers
1:26:00 Seaglet self feeds on leftover food. Not clear what food is it.
The other parent returned with a fish shortly after I turned off the camera. It self fed itself before.
Only 1 seaglet appears to be visible from the nest. We aren't sure if the other seaglet is lying down, or has branched.
Many thanks to the residents of Bedok North Block 100 for allowing me to place the camera at their corridor to film.
