Just bought one last weekend in the uk. With 800miles for £3200. Great little bike.

I've been watching all you videos and wanted to circle back to comment. I liked your perspective and I've been looking hard and finally got one. I grew up in central PA and started out on a trail 90. We had dirt roads every where and me and my friend loved the freedom of our small bore bikes. High School and beyond there were nothing but Harleys in my life. 5 all together up to my M8 Electra Glide. As I reached 60 I found my riding style changed. Riding around on Interstate Highways just didn't do it for me. I wanted to get back to riding slower and wandering on back roads. I liked my Harley, but a 1000 pound is just not very good at that. I had a TW200 and it was good on the trail but not anywhere else. I have a soft spot for the Trail 90 so I looked at the Trail 125 when it came out, but it as just too slow even on local roads. I tried a Zuma 125 scooter, which did better in local traffic, but wasn't good in any kind of gravel or soft dirt. After many months of research and videos like your, I just bought the Scram 411. I think it fits the bill for me and I kind of think of it as a grown up Trail 90. A trail bike that can handle the road work as well as being utilitarian. Unfortunately, I moved away from PA many years ago, but I still have friends there. I can't wait to get back there and ride some of the great roads around the Allegheny Forest. Thanks again for all the info you shared with us. It does help us!

Thank you for the kind reply. Fun fact: I also started out riding roads on a Trail 90!

Very interesting and illuminating video. I have one of these on my radar as my 1979 Guzzi SP is becoming a bit too heavy for comfort. Thanks for posting

I think the power delivery will suit you as a Guzzi owner. Not as much, but similar feeling of grunt.

I want a street bike that has some off-road capabilities. I’ve had street legal dirt bikes but found them uncomfortable, that narrow hard seat was a pain-in-the- ass, literally. My Bonneville doesn’t like gravel although I would rather have it take me 3 km to pavement than the TW200 I sold. Plus, I’m 71, I’d like to end my riding days the way I started, on single cylinder motorcycle. PS… Man, you stole this bike, 160 miles and all tricked out, please, you’re killing me.

Deals are out there. With these small displacement bikes, many people buy them and then develop buyer's remorse when it won't win a drag race with their buddy's Ninja. Or, with mine, the guy bought the wrong bike to go touring on. He also is a perpetual bike buyer and always looking for the next one. I've seen quite a few 411 and 350 Enfields for about MSRP with only a few miles on them. You avoid all the dealer fees and still get an essentially new bike. 3 year warranty transfers to whoever owns it.

Would make sense to ride it a while, get it broken in, and then discuss the power.

I wonder why he didn’t ride it a bit before buying everything imaginable that you could for it …. An aftermarket exhaust for a thumper ?!? I always wonder how there are so many bike totally decked out with very little miles…I have this same bike 2023 color and all with no upgrades lol…… but the bike is completely different now with 1500 miles than it was with under 1000….. it really opens up nicely

It amazes me too. He pretty much told me he changes bikes often and is used to losing money on them. Hooray for me I guess!

Two things I would suggest are a centre stand and a rear tyre hugger. The DNA air filter allows the engine to breath a lot better than the original.

I've since purchased a center stand. Considering the hugger. The bike came with the DNA filter, which honestly I think is a complete joke. I took it off and sold it. Poorer filtering and zero difference in power that I found.

Add the Hitchcock cam. 20% power increase

I have a friend with a Himalayan who did that. He was not impressed. But I'll try to do a comparison with his.

Supposedly TEC camshafts are better than Hitchcock, and check your air sensor location, they seem to be in a terrible place and get too hot where they are not reporting the correct temp to the ECU.

At last someone that see's the bike for what it is, I want a mid size single scrambler and there isn't really anything other than this, I also like the styling, I test rode one last year and thought it was great, I never really felt the need to go more 70 mph, it's just not that sort of bike, it's for kicking back and enjoying the ride plus like you said it will it will happily travel roads less made

May be the camera angle, but those handguards look to really need some adjusting.
