Ted! I love these videos. They really help prepare one for a trip to Breck. Also, Ted is a great instructor. If anyone is watching this and is thinking about a private lesson in Breckenridge, I highly recommended him.

So glad you are back! Stuck in the midwest for the past two years and dreaming of pow, I have spent more time watching your channel than I care to admit. I really like the long-form videos, because they give you a good sense of the geography of the mountain--how you move from area to area, and how to navigate it as a whole. The shorter videos, since they are bite-sized videos of runs, obviously can't do that (although I am very much looking forward to you adding the new runs that you mention toward the end of the video).

Great Video! The long ending showing your cross mountain traverse back to the village was very helpful. I don't know why it never occurred to me to use the trees like that. Please keep showing the unknown mountain secrets. Thank You.

❤️ ⛷. Dude, great vid! So stoked to ski Breck again…!!!! Spent the last 6 years in Germany. Skied Switzerland, Austria, and Germany and I have to say I love the Rockies over the Alps….the snow is so much better and the grooming methods in the US are sweet. Looking to learn to carve this upcoming season and will hunt ya down. We’re going to be in Breck before and over Christmas through the 30th…definitely will see if you’re available.

Great June! Visit BreckSnowPro.com for my contact info. And sorry for the late reply. I often don't see KZitem comments right away, if at all. This is probably partly my fault. But I also don't think I see everything in my "KZitem Studio", or sometimes don't see them until weeks or months later, after something gets posted here.

The snow we have is skiing nicely! But we could always use more. I'm going to try to fold some of this kind of info into my commentary in future videos. The ski area website is showing the South Side as open right now. It wasn't open when I went by it last on the 12th.

Love the videos Ted!! You mention several times in various videos that the quality of the videos are better when shot in the sunlight and nobody can argue that. Can you share with us where you would ski in the morning to get the best sunshine, then again at noon time and finally what area/trails get the best late day sun? Thanks.
@BreckSnowPro
2 жыл бұрын
The ski area is part of the Ten Mile Range which runs pretty close to North - South and the ski area faces mostly east. So, the east and south facing slopes all get good light most of the day. The slopes facing more to the north get the best light when the sun is highest in the sky (solar noon) and later in the season when the sun gets higher in the sky than it does earlier in the season. For my purposes, I don't like to shoot much of anything after about 2:30pm right now, and even then shadows are getting long.

We skied Breck twice just after the first of the year. It nice to see more terrain open. Maybe it’ll spread some people out more? We’re coming back in a few weeks to Vail. We may have to hit Breck for a day? It’s our favorite resort, town etc…

I sure hope to watch your previous video. Are your skis the Soul 7? It looks like all of your runs were good conditions. I remember that time of the year. I wanted to do the whole mountain but I didn't want to leave the runs. I also just learned that the Village was at the bottom of Peak 9. I always parked in the parking lots and took a bus into the bottom of Peak 8 until the bus would drop us off at the gondola. I always took claimjumper to the bottom of Peak 8 and there was always a ton of people. I might have been joe racer on the top of the mountain but snowplow king on the bottom. Just way too many people for my big skis to ski around.

Horseshow Bowl to The Village would have been a lot easier if I had started the traverse 50 yards sooner and gone past the Vista Haus. I was just not think about it until I was done with the steep part of the run and considered the time, lighting, etc.

Kind of... I like to take people through a progression of Columbia - Sundown - American. And if C-Chair is open, we might ski Gold King and take C-Chair up because it gives a good view of American which is one of the easier black runs on Pk9. Spruce is one of the easier ones on Pk8 and you can see it from the Colorado chair.

I’m guessing you skied across from the top of Peak 8 SuperConnect to the bottom of 6 Chair. Is that a super flat long trudge or not too bad? Trying to figure out the best way to get from Peak 9 to the Imperial lift.

The Burn... be super cautious on the exit into Upper Lehman... listen for kids coming. The trees between Peerless and American are easier. The Windows are harder. Toilet Bowl is one not on the map but you can find it in the playlists here.
