I've been watching ski maintenance videos on KZitem all day. These are by far the best. Thank you.

Really good advice Steve, who better to trust than someone who makes skis. Much less confusing than other you tube videos on ski tuning. Thanks Steve.

I've been skiing for a while, but I don't have much experience with the maintenance of skis. I've always just been the type of person to go out, ski for a day, and come back too lazy to do anything to my gear. I'm trying to change that now, and this guide for fixing bases and waxing skis is so helpful.

Excellent video Steve!! I have watched numerous videos on how to tune/wax skis and I really feel that yours are what all of us non-racer/typical skiers need to do to keep our skis in tip top shape. Very simple and it is nice to see you use tools that are not expensive to buy. A simple tuning kit for $100 is about all that you need and if you are handy you can build your own ski vises. Looking forward to the next videos you put out. Since you build custom skis it would be really cool to see the process for building a ski and also showing what the stone grinding process entails. Maybe a future series.

Thanks Paul! Thats exactly what I am trying to achieve with these videos! Ski tuning is not rocket science (If I can do it anyone can), and being able to take care of your gear adds to the overall experience! I will be making more videos for sure!

@@bpmskis9322 Question for you regarding PTEX repairs. How deep of a scratch should you consider repairing with PTEX? If the scratch can be caught with your finger nail is that scratch a candidate for repair?

@@paulcodner460 Absolutely! Anything short of a full delamination can be repaired with a PTEX candle.

Best tips ive seen .. thanks.. you know... in slalom indoor skiing here in spain, for training and competition .. i started competing last year.. we use the hardest blue wax minus 30... and leave the wax without scraping cause the artificial snow is so agressive actually polishes the wax fast and damages the ski.. but i found skis are faster as you say.. scraping it all off and polishing... that extra bit of speed is crucial in indoor skiing cause its very slow the artificial snow.. it is just more work but i love it.. keeps me in shape...and im already 7th at master level competitions.. im 56 and still flying.. im even still dancing on the slopes.. i use to do freestyle ballet skiing... you motivate me a lot.. reminded me of ski lovers i met in colorado ages ago.. check my inspiration videos you may like them..thanks

These are the best ski tuning/waxing videos I could find. I think you mentioned de-tuning somewhere. Do you have any videos about that?
