I couldn’t imagine being lost in the wood and frantic. Then all of a sudden a guy wearing skis on his back in June comes around the corner...

That snow or ice looks pretty rough on your skis! Thunder and lightning and carrying two skis poking up. Well done.

Congrats on keeping the streak!! But seriously man, thunderstorms are no joke. The closest I have ever felt to dying was hiking Loveland Pass after I thought a storm had passed over and seeing my hiking partner's hair stand on end. Just because the rain stops and the sun comes out doesn't mean you're safe.

Planning to get out soon, what front range accessible glacier do you think would have better conditions? St. Mary’s or Skyscraper?

They are both going to be rough. Was on st Mary’s yesterday and it was brutal but do able. I’m sure skyscapper has more snow but a sketchy entrance and I have no desire to be on something steep when conditions are ice and dirty. But your call. Report back whichever you choose so I know!

@@tgmorrissey ended up just doing St. Mary’s so I wouldn’t have to drive as far but definitely brutal conditions, more mud on surface than ice/snow. The lower steeper portion skied much better and had less mud and wave like texture to it but nobody seemed to want to ski section, glad I did since it was so much smoother.

@@tgmorrissey hopefully! Trying to decide if I just go this weekend or wait for random early snow from middle to end of September. Glad the resorts should be opening early November this year though.

Ohh yeah. I know that game well. Always tell myself I am gonna go earlier in the month. But never do :)
