I can knock a few things, though one (arguably two)'s a nitpick and another I'm not sure about. The physics of the broken parts of the toilet boss would be _outrageous_ for a mid-90's FPS like this is visually modeled on, a widescreen presentation is pretty damn unusual for a '90s game and the reflective floors don't seem like something that would be present in an engine of this vintage (Build does have wall mirrors, but those are completely fucking ridiculous hacks that couldn't translate to reflective floors). That said, considering that within the game's universe this was finished 20 years after the fact and was mostly "programmed" by a friend of Real World Zane, I presume that the work done on the original in-universe mod was simply ported over to a newer engine that was more capable and easier to work with. Even the breaks from mid-90s technology can be justified!

The hour of knit picking is upon us! When I think of teenage angst I think of contempt for teachers, social cliques I couldn't hang with, defunct religious authority figures, my first boss, and chicks who weren't into me lol. I was 13 in 99. If anyone had a lavatorial sense of humor like this after the second or third grade they'd be eyeballed pretty hard. One of the schools gym teachers, doubling as a mental health expert because they took a three hour course on a Saturday afternoon at a church would be forced to turn off Jerry Springer in their little supply closet and pay the kid a visit lol. 90s teenage angst starter kit - Wake up, Your quicksilver hat was already on you as you slept, but now its time to turn it backwards. - Lower your shades, turn on the tv and stare directly into Christina Aguilaras navel unblinkingly for 4 minutes straight. - Throw back a mountain dew maybe throw in a flintstones vitamin and a poptart if your upper class. - Open your window. Start your daily social activity by yelling at someone for wearing a Tool tshirt, because even though you haven't heard a Tool song your fairly confident that they suck because its not the one band youve liked for years now that you heard for the first time the week before. - Go to school, watch as the sad display of the adult world in front of you pretends that your going to be able to learn algebra out of one half open bloodshot eye. - Stare at the girl next to you, quietly thank atheist Jesus that you are fortunate enough to grow up in an enlightened age when jeans are low slung and G strings aren't. - A group of obese kids with early onset male pattern baldness and somehow also probably menopause even though they seem to be male appear before you. They are wearing camouflage cargo shorts and whatever Kevin Smith was wearing the week before. Its not clear whether you hated them before they hated you but you'd like to believe you shot first. - Columbine ended the era of the teacher who thought they were untouchable, so your teachers are generally alright. Even the ones who entered the profession because they fully intended to be closeted jock sniffing child sadists reign in their behavior somewhat, but thats not going to stop you from bagging on them every chance you get. - Its lunch time, you associate with the small cadre of people in your school who don't intimidate you intellectually or physically. They each feel the same way you do and the mild passive aggressive contests to become troupe lord of the dwarven saskwatch clan persist for four years straight. If you strike out in college they probably continue for a few years into your 20s until your willing to pretend that your coworkers are your real friends. (They arnt.) - Its your lucky day, the schools been visited by a concerned adults group that wants to pull everyone in your school out of class, seat them in the auditorium for an hour and talk to them about drugs and life style choices. This is vastly preferable to failing at chemistry, so you quietly make the insinuation that drugs and life style choices and advocacy groups are a way to avoid labor and academic rigor. You make a mental note to vote yes on whatever the drug addled fat, lazy and happy people on stage are talking about. - Cross half the school to meet the girl you like in the hallway between classes. Shes the prettiest, smartest, nicest, most coolest chick in the world. Tell her "hey" for the 100th day consecutively. Before appearing at your next class seven minutes late and utterly content to do the exact same thing again the next day. - The sad display of the adult world in front of you pretends that your going to be able to learn English lit when your one hour from being let out of class. You are doing one of three things at this time. You are cataloguing the crop tops you saw that day, you are thinking about Dragon Ball Z, or your literally just listening to the buzzing sound the bell makes just prior to its hammer mechanism making contact with its tinny bronze surface like a Pavlovian dog. In the first sixteenth of a second after the bronze hammer hits home, your already three steps outside the classroom. - As you run down the hall you make a point to shoulder check every single person whos moving slower than you, even going as far as to take three deliberate steps to the left and then right to do so. - The skateboard kids run your ass over doing the same thing but slightly faster. You get the distinct impression that this behavior is okay when you do it, but no okay when they do it, and something about the stupid biohazard and green day stickers on their boards is the reason why. - You get home, if its the first half of the 90s your probably firing up your Gen 13 and Spawn comic books. If its the second half your firing up Toonami. - Lose 16 consecutive matches in Starcraft to zergling rushes in the span of a single hour. Stare at a custom map where units are arranged to draw a picture of a naked sarah kerrigan on the minimap. Know even at this stage of your life that your supposed to be disgusted with yourself. - Its dinner time, if you are staying with your father that week he will try to give you some sage and worldly advice about the work place, before quietly admitting that he entered the work place before the former soviet block and all of the third world had been integrated into your local labor pool. Your brain develops an auto squelch feature and shuts out all dialogue after the words "gumption", "pluck" or "sticktuitiveness" are used. If you're with your unemployed mother that week, her advice will be the equally useful but faster advice to "just make it work or something" - Someone once said that success was 10 percent inspiration, 10 percent motivation and 80 percent perspiration to you. You had tinnitus for a week afterwards and knew that you were going to be a future gun owner. - Stare idly at homework that would take you fifteen minutes to complete for over an hour, waiting for it to do itself. You could yahoo search the answers but at this point you know that the point of the assignment is to suffer and not to get correct answers, and this is your penance. - The year before you had the opportunity to hang out with the cool kids behind the target who turned a shopping cart into a "bombsled" by adhering fireworks to it and you'd literally rather be in the burn ward section of juvenile hall with them than stare at a square root indicator for one more insufferable second. - The day ends but if you stay up until midnight you can watch the exact same episode of Gundam Wing a second time, and for the seven minutes of content you get between character pauses and commercials for toys you nervously realize are for people half your age, you are happy. (Dude its named Death Scythe SOLD) - Now that no ones watching you temporarily realign your quicksilver hat to face up even though the rest of your lifes trajectory is facing down, and you allow the soothing lyrics of Fred Durst's Rolling Rollin Rolling to lull you to sleep..

Putting aside that people have different childhood experiences, Zane is a noted manchild. Like not only did he rope an old friend from high-school into finishing a game 20 years later, but even in his 30's he seems completely unchanged as a person compared to the teenaged asshole he was when he got banned from Hypnospace (aside for apparently having more respect for his mother now than he did then). Fun fact related to that banning that I'll share to aid my point: Going by posts on his Twitter, he still hates the enforcer who got him banned, even though if he wasn't banned _he would have died in the Y2K incident._ Apparently he's unable to put 2 and 2 together here. Point: Zane is _particularly_ immature and dumb even by teenaged angster standards.
