I like the D'Amato shift to the inside also, sets up really good angles and get offline of the rear hand. Also can step far to the inside or do a more lateral-flexion slip (like tyson does) so you can either slip again further or come back to centre quicker

Have you ever seen a monkey sling poop before? It's incredible. They perfectly demonstrate how you should be boxing. When you slip to the inside, it shouldn't be predictable in the first place. Do you have any idea how hard it is to hit something that is in constant motion, moving in broken patterns? It should never be clear to your opponent whether you are slipping to the inside or to the outside. And every mistake should be met with punishment.
@user-ql9oe8ig4w

why doesnt he just keep his guard up?

@thenoobreturnz8968

This isn't true. Your leaning to forward aswell as you're in a wrestlers stance the way you slipped back is how your stance should initially be, when you slip you just want to turn your hips to either direction. My coach taught me this because the way you showed the slip you can easily be punched in those stances as you're also open for a lead hook/uppercut

the Reason why people are afraid going inside when slipping. is right hand yes, but worse thing to be afraid is to biting on the feint and run into right hand. its not about the tool. but how someone can use that tool
