Hi welcome to Caribbeanj03. Thank you for coming into my sister’s kitchen with us. Today she will be preparing slow cooker dry rub BBQ ribs
Ingredients:
1/2 teaspoon Nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon Sage
1/4 teaspoon ground West African pepper (cayenne pepper powder)
1 teaspoon paprika
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon all purpose seasoning bouillon powder
4 teaspoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons yellow mustard
3 tablespoons light brown sugar
2 slabs pork spears ribs
Your choice of barbecue sauce
Instructions:
1. In a small bowl, make dry rub by combining all the spices and brown sugar, including the bouillon powder.
2. In a large bowl add water and vinegar (lemon juice) rinse and remove silver skin off the back of the ribs.
3. Cut each slab of ribs in half.
4. Rub both sides of ribs with dry rub. Set aside
5. Melt unsalted butter to make browned butter
6. Add mustard
7. Stand ribs up in slow cooker (Do not add any liquid)
8. Cook 8-9 hours on low or 5 hours on high.
9. Move ribs from the slow cooker to a cutting board and carefully cut into individual pieces.
10. Serve with barbecue sauce
