im looking to do a class 1 license up to 7500kg as my van only has a payload of 1000kg (it weights 2500kg naked) so i was going to get the extra axle support and spring to allow for 5000kg kg but then i am limited by my license do you think the training and test would be deductable? if i take 2 guys and full tank of fuel its already pushing 400kg and 600kg is not alot when considering all my racking tools ladders materials i need more weight allowance. kind regards (my van is a long wheel base high top)

Yes I would have thought the expenses could be deductible. In theory HMRC could argue that the expense was of a capital nature and not deductible, but it's quite subjective. If in doubt put a note on the tax return to cover yourself.

If I have a collection of power yools, could I sell them to my business for the current RRP, or would it need to be the estimated second hand valve?

Do iPads etc have to be purchased in the company name with evidence of receipt. Also, same question for mileage - do I need all the receipts etc etc. With the room as an office at home, will a WHSmith agreement suffice
@tspartners942
3 жыл бұрын
They don't require the company name, no. As long as they will belong to the business.Mileage, just keep a log of trips. Receipts always a good idea and would be required if vat were to be reclaimed. For home office, you need a non exclusive licence to occupy

Thanks for the video.Does the mortgage get affected by running a business from home?
@flypix4480
6 жыл бұрын
Generally I would not foresee any issues at all in respect of the mortgage when using a room in the home as a home office. Issues could arise if you were running a fully fledged business from home. Not only could the mortgage company have a problem but there could be issues with business rates and loss of capital gains tax private residence exemption.

Thanks for the tips. How long back I can get to claim pre-trading cost? Also, I have used my desktop computer desk and printer sincand before trading but never claim any cost. Can still do it now? I just included the cost of a new purchased Laptop and photography equipment. Thanks again for your help 👍

FlyPix thank you for your reply. Is still apply even if this is my 4th year trading and I haven't claimed those pre-trading cost so far? The cost wouldn't be no more than £500 but still something I could claim specially if I have not enough profits. Then should I include it as a one off cost or spread it as the rest of other equipment? Thanks again and sorry for the long post.
@tspartners942

Ah, OK it's your 4th year of trading... You'd need in theory to claim under overpayment relief provisions (which is a 4 year time limit) - initial reply assumed it was was your first set of accounts - for £500 of costs you may decide it's not worth the hassle
