I feel bad for all the people that thought this was so that he could use the screw with the bigger wrench. This is obviously a way to make a screw that can easily be HAND tightened...

For those confused by this, its to give the bolt a soft grip so it can be screwed and and unscrewed by hand for small applications that need to be bolted down but aren't meant to be permanent.

There's no point to that. Just get the right wrench. The glue isn't going to be strong enough to withstand the wrench if you actually apply tourge to it to tighten it with the appropriate Newton meter.

I’m pretty sure it was to be a handle to finger tighten anything. If not it would definitely work in a situation where it doesn’t need to be wrenched down. But yes using it on a vice was fucking retarded

This is pretty helpful! A lot of equipment panels are attached with thumb screws and the brittle plastic always breaks from vibrations while it’s running, I bet the glue would honestly last longer and no one ever has those thumb screws on hand for easy replacement anyway!

Correct, which is actually super useful,.I have bolts that have to be tightened on certain machines like a heat press, snow blower, etc. Where we have to keep a wrench on hand for when you store the machine when it's not in use, and it'd be so much easier for that one bolt to be tightened by hand instead of tying a small wrench to the machine and hoping everybody that uses it does the right thing

Hot melt glue will bond to metal much better if the metal is moderately hot. If the metal is cold, it will bond weakly or not at all. So for the example in the video it would be beneficial to warm up the bolt.
