Flashcards have been an amazing resource. When I’m burnt out on the casebook, it keeps me moving forward. My first law school exam is a little under 2 weeks away!

Make sure and talk to some lawyers. Find out what we actually do. Ask a lawyer what their typical day looks like. And keep in mind that there are thousands of ways to practice law.

I will try to incorporate this method when studying for a test. I would always read and memorize all cards, although I had some already memorized. Separating them into the 3 boxes helps save time to concentrate more on the ones that I have not yet memorized.

Love this video and love this channel. Preparing for my first year of law school and this channel is a Godsend! Question: how soon do you recommend starting this method? First week of class? First day? Combine all classes into the four boxes or separate them from each other? So multiple sets of "4 boxes."
@Learnlawbetter

I would create one set of boxes, that way you are mixing the material--you learn the law at a deeper level that way. I would wait a week, but after that start creating flashcards and start reviewing.

I really love this video. I've been practicing something close to this since I was in college, but I didn't know that there was actually a name and steps to do it better. This practically helps for learning law or any other subject. Believe me i though KZitem is boring until I found your channel. Thanks you so much for the tips. This channel has some pretty great tips... I'm really impressed.

Can different boxes be studied on the same day? For example Box 1: M W F; Box 2: M F; Box 3: W. Or is it better to try and separate the days? Thanks.
@Learnlawbetter
7 жыл бұрын
That's a great question. It really depends on your study schedule. If you look at the boxes every M W F, then it makes sense to look at all the boxes on that schedule. What you don't want to do is create a system that is so complex that you give up and don't do it at all. But if you are comfortable with using every day in the week, then go for it. The key is consistency--create a schedule and stick to it.

Hello sir I don’t understand how to make flash cards for law question

On one side you write the rule and the other side a definition. For example, one side might say battery. Then the flip side will say the intentional contact of another in a harmful or offensive manner.

You're not wrong, and I've been known to use Anki for Spanish, but I also keep spiral notebooks and legal pads where I write down the information in longhand. I've never made flashcards, but I've still found that the latter method has been more useful than Anki. I did the same in college (fire science, not law), but the personal computer was just beginning to come into the fore. We were all taking notes in longhand. I'm just saying that I have consistently performed better through the years after recording notes in that way.

Generally, right a legal term on one side and the rule on the back side. For example, the front might say “intent” and the back “the desire or knowledge to a substantial certainty that the act will occur.”
