1702 has 57 inch drivers 722 has 56 inch drivers. 722 is just a larger, more well suited engine for the Murphy Branch, larger boiler and firebox. Great video, hope they can get 722 running again

My car is famous! (silver Honda at Deep Creek). Very well done video. Cripple 7 is crippled because of minor mechanical problems which is why they don't run it that often. You didn't go to the spot on Ferguson Hill on the westbound trip. Would've been your best shot with the sun and engine working up the grade. It was nice meeting you. Hope to see you again in April when 1702 runs to the Nantahala Gorge.

Thanks! Yeah, the second day we didn't have enough time to get from the curve at Ela to Ferguson, so we beat it to Deep Creek instead. All in all, everything turned out awesome. It was nice meeting you too, and I'll let you know about a possible trip up north in the coming months...

711 and 777 are at the end of their lives. MrBeast used them in a video where he crashed them into stuff, and they are awaiting the scrapper's torch.

Did you know that when diesel crews towed steam engines they jokingly gave them the nickname boat anchor I've heard that saying from the Ohio Central Train Fest 2004

Is this the same line of track that The Fugitive train wreck was filmed on?
@FloridaRailfan

Yeah, the fugitive wreck is just west of the Dillsboro shops, but out of public view

The shot you got around 34:28 I think I know where that is atom Thomas Valley Road, is it right before they go under the overpass?
@FloridaRailfan
6 жыл бұрын
Not exactly RIGHT before the overpass, but yeah it's in Thomas Valley, between Wilmot and Whittier...where the overpass is.

I think I got it! I will be chasing 1702 VERY soon and I found on google maps where the road curves like that but the thing that through me off on google maps is there is another structure before it the garage/barn thing. Thank you.

No problem. It looks really nice next to the barn, the tracks are all covered up by weeds and it looks pretty cool. I was about to run down there to get closer, but I liked the long shot

Yes, they'll all be uploaded in a batch soon. Working backwards, I've got part 4 done and currently working on part 2. Thanks for the concern, stay tuned!
