Great videos thanks! I think “character =cathedral” and that helps me remember which is which. I would love to see a video on tips for group singing and Smule etiquette in general. I’m not sure if it’s kosher to send a message invitation of an OC to several people? or you just have to let only your followers find the song in their invite feed? Some people seem to get annoyed? What’s the norm?

Honestly, that's a tricky question. Some people may get annoyed while others may not. Some people won't look or respond to messages. And, if you send an invite to someone who isn't following you - it will go to their 'other' inbox where they may never see it. Me, personally, I send invites to those I think may want to join (and it's the type of things they sing) - but I don't send an invite to everyone I follow.

Very informative video but reverb enhances anyone's voice. I think the setting is better between 35-50% Many OCs are set on a default by Smule at 50. Just my humble opinion. Btw are you a member, and what is your Profile ID? I would like to sing with you. ☺

Yeah, like I said, settings are subjective to individual tastes. Yeah, the 50 setting is the default if they don't adjust the reverbs. Personally, I think that's too much. But again, my own opinion. Info is in description.

@@clydeb7713 No - those are just the ones I post on here (I find people are more interested in viewing those than other stuff). I do acting VAs, and lots of duets as well. Thanks for the compliment.

@@madmadammin4438 I went through your profile and I guess you close OCs because I tried to join your Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy and it was closed? I can join others expired invites?

@@clydeb7713 Any group song (that has more than 2 layers) do close and can be closed early. Those can't be joined. Group songs can never be joined after they're closed. Only duets. I'm told the time travel trick on group songs doesn't work anymore either. But regardless, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy was never a public OC open to any other joins. It was a private self collab I did.

Super awesome and informative video 👍👍🙏🏻 how do i set reverb on the Smule iOS version ? It doesn’t show me the RC/RA options there

Yeah Smule has changed things a bit since the video was made. Click on the audio fx icon at the bottom below the style (same screen - after you sing before hitting continue). There are now a ton of audio affects - but if you click on the main one that it defaults to - It will give you the reverb character and reverb amount options. Most other audio affects also have those two reverb settings as well. Once set, click 'back' then 'done' as shown in blue. Hope that helps!

As mentioned in the video - it's really up to each individual and what you like and the sound you're going for. However, for group songs, I would not recommend them that high.

OC stands for either 'Open Call" or 'Open Collaboration' - it refers to any open public invite/song.
