You've done well to keep that one going over winter, Brett! All of mine failed after a few months 🙄

Yes I lost all the others over a short period, they seem to be very difficult to keep alive here so I’m doubtful if this one will survive for long 😂

Wow that Salak palm has done really well Brett. I grew one a few years ago and didn't realise it was going to be a palm. A friend brought a fruit back from Malaysia. So I got one seed germinated, it grew for a few months but i neglected it and it soon dried up.

They are very finicky so I’m not expecting it to survive much longer, I lost all of the other that I germinated, I suspect from root rot and lack of humidity actually. They have vicious spines lol.

What causes that leaf tip necrosis? I think it could be potassium deficiency. Once I started to add a level teaspoon of potassium nitrate to the water (4 litres of water) the leaf tip necrosis of my coffee stopped, and all the newly emerged leaves are immaculate.

Doubtful on a seedling, I think they are just difficult tropicals to keep alive in our low light, dry atmosphere winters. All of my other seedlings died off long ago, most likely too cool or root issues than any deficiencies. They are extremely slow growing 🙄
