I am coming from a Maserati Ghibli and have been keeping an eye on the Genesis brand for a couple of years, when the preorder process began at Genesis for this car I placed my deposit, and the car you are looking at was the actual car that Genesis were going to supply me! However in the end I went for an identical colour and spec car but without the Executive pack - essentially the rear screens. I am lead to believe delivery will be in two weeks, and I think Genesis have a real winner, as you say it's only competitor is the Merc EQE which is as you pointed out is ten thousand more expensive. Additionally the styling, luxury cabin and equipment really do seal the deal, everyone I have shown a picture of the EG80 thinks it's a Bentley!! Not surprisingly the designer at Genesis used to be chief of styling at Bentley! I let you know what I think when it turns up...

The compromise of an ice platform shows in practicality but there is something admirable about them taking on the German barges.

Thank you very much for your kind words. Hopefully you’ll stick with us, as we will be putting the Genesis models through a proper road test as soon as we can.

I love it, just wish it was a ground up BEV platform

I was just thinking that. It would free up more interior space in the back.

Terrible range. Waste of money

What? At over 320 miles? I think that’s pretty decent, and given how efficient the Hyundais and Kia’s are, I’d expect it to get close to that. Over 100 miles better than the more expensive Audi e-tron SUV.

@@AutoEV the problem is, the method used for the range always overestimates a lot. The EPA ratings, which are much more accurate, are always much lower. I would not buy a new EV, especially one that expensive with an EPA range of less than 320. But that is just my opinion.

@@markgold5408 It's not so much how far the car can travel in one go but, how far can the driver go. 5 hours solid driving without a comfort break, or a food break is too far in my opinion. There was someone the other day who demanded 800 miles range before he would go electric. That's basically Lands End to John O Groats or 14 hours driving plus. What have you people got against taking breaks?

@@Hell-Hound1 the thing is the efficiency. For example, my model 3 with a 75kWH battery gets over 310 miles per charge. The car here will probably get 270 miles with an 85kWH battery. That is a lot less efficient. So it uses a lot more energy to go the same distance.

@@markgold5408 Ah ok, I understand where you're coming from now. Out of interest have you ever got 310 between charging, on a run out. As opposed to bimbling around town?
