The design of this car is stunning and like you, I can't wait to drive one. I think Hyundai have made a superb job of the styling and there is a very good range of colours; more so than the Ioniq 5. When you add in the technological advances and aerodynamics of the body I have no doubt it is going to be a very efficient car that will appeal to an awful lot of people. The real challenge, as others have already said, will be trying to actual get one! 😔

From the side it reminds me of the EQS, this is not a bad thing, you are 100% right about the 900 Turbo wing and the 911 duck tail, the front reminds me of a Tiburon, maybe the weakest part. I do like the interior, the big question for me is, are they actually going to be able to get it to customers and, the glaring weakness (at least in the US), what are the lease rates going to be like. Specing an Ioniq 5 and a model 3, the Tesla murders the Hyundai on the lease rates, until Hyundai can fix that they will not be able so really take on Tesla.

Why in the world would you lease an electric car? Currently demand for EVs is through the roof meaning resale values will be sky high on EVs. Also, not all carmakers let you get tax credits when leasing. Overall, leasing one of these makes almost zero sense. If you're concerned about long term reliability they got a long warranty too.

We currently still run our Ioniq Hybrid which I have to say is excellent but there will be a time to move on from that. Although I’m so impressed with the 5, this Ioniq 6 holds masses of appeal. Thank you for this tempting sneak peek. Hyundai marketing do know how to tease... Let us wait and se how it drives and for how long (if it cracks the 500 km in cold weather on the motorway, we will applaud, but the 600 km dream target will remain for city-driving in mild weather). But until then two questions: why so long (4m85 is much more than the other 3, and it's larger too) and why such protruding cameras (why is Honda the only manufacturer that has understood how wing mirror cameras should work)?

True since it's still pre, as in before, production. No one can 😉 (yet). Batteries shortages are the largest issue then computer chips in EV vehicles manufacturing currently. HMG has invested *Billions* in two new factories, one for batteries and the other will be for EV production. They've also invested in lower cost sodium-ion battery tech which will lower the cost to manufacturer EV. Solid State batteries, the next evolution won't come before 2025. It's not just Hyundai/Kia. The new Blazer EV has limited orders available. Nissan's new SUV EV has already stopped orders, it's a global market issue not a HMG one.

You´re maybe not the tallest man in the world (your own words 🙂), but you did a great job introducing the Ioniq 6. Anyhow that particular car has nearly all options you can order. But then it´s getting quite expensive though. Anyhow some comments: The 20 inch wheels are not the first choice for efficient driving. The V2L adapter is not available for all versions, especially not for the basic configuration. The warranty is 8 years, but it´s only 5 years by Hyundai plus 3 years by a different contractor, where you have to consider different conditions, too. But I like that car and will probably order one. The basic version with the 53kWh accumulator will be sufficient and fits my needs. And it will be the most efficient Ioniq 6 version. Currently I´m owning the Ioniq classic with 28kWh and I thought first I´ll keep it until it will ´die´, but the Ioniq 6 changed my mind. 🙂Kind regards Stephan

Beautiful car, love the efficiency focus. Wish they would give more attention to the use of the interior space like the frunk space and trunk. Tesla has set the bar for the use of space and Hyundai has a good efficiency focus, now refine the use of space. This is a great streamliner type design that looks good. I think the rear looks more like the 911. There is room for even more efficiency on that rear end. Would like them to offer an aero wheel option or like the Tesla an wheel cap that you can put on for highway range when you want it. Would love to see these cars offer a rear wheel skirt as an attachable and detachable option also. That way you can add it when you want even more efficiency and range, and remove it when you want the open uncovered look.

When I first saw the Ioniq 6 prototype I thought it was the best looking EV I'd seen. Those lines the big hips the simple elegance of the back. The prototype was the dream and what we got was a production reality and I don't think they had to. For starters it's busier, far busier than the prototype both front and back. The front looks common and my god two spoilers at the back is a hard sell but then all that stuff going on beneath it? Without the wider hips the back looks squashed and the bumper area is just unnecessary. A prototype is normally toned down for production but this was neutered and then someone decided to add "stuff" to compensate. I think they could fix it perhaps a performance version with simpler, cleaner lines.

First of all, thank you for taking the time to watch the video and comment. Your view is very much appreciated. Regarding the length of the video, it’s always been a bit of a hot topic. We took the decision to do longer videos for two reasons; first of all, KZitem is a crowded space, and many other channels do quick 10/15 minute videos so how do we stand apart from them? Well, by going into a bit more detail and being thorough. Secondly (and this is a result of doing the longer videos) the majority of who we appeal to is actual car buyers who want as much detail as possible, especially as many car dealers move to a “click and collect” type of selling strategy with less reliance on sales staff. We provide an unbiased and well-detailed review of each model to help people in the buying decisions. It’s goes against the KZitem norm, and I know it costs us views and subscribers, but we feel it’s the correct way for us to stand out. We do put the video into chapters if anyone gets a bit bored of a wee Scotsman waffle on, you can skip to the relevant sections. Hopefully you stick with us as we continue to grow, but your point of view is valid and well made. Thank you for watching. Bryan, Rod & Charlie.

At the end, It's not a Tesla and will never be one. Beautiful as it is (and it is !), It's not a match to Tesla in almost any measurable parameter (maybe build quality). In terms of Technology, Storage size, Power, operating cost , driving experience etc', the Tesla is superior. When you buy a Hyundai in 2022, it will remain a 2022 for the rest of it's life while a Tesla get's better with time using over the air updates and newer thechnologies brought to all cars while Hyundai will still bring you to stupid service appointments and will charge you for nothing...

That’s a very cynical, and dare I suggest, blinkered view. Hyundai will offer OTA updates to certain areas of software, and until we drive it, we can’t say how it drives. And no matter how many OTA updates Tesla offer, it won’t change the car’s dynamics as that is a fixed piece of mechanical engineering, and one (dare I say) that is inferior to other cars in the market place.

@@AutoEV Well... This is the problem when you get a press car... Someone from Hyundai is "Pointing a gun" to you and dare you say something bad about the car or mention Tesla in a good way. You actually called the small pocket in the fromt a Frunk ???? Are you kidding me ??? I recommend that you watch some serious channels of people who test vehicles that are not demo vehicles given by the manufacturer but buy and test them themselves (e.g. NowYouKnow Channel). Don't get me wrong, the other manufacturers are slowly closing the gap but the distance is still very big. People (like you) get confused because of external appearance and do not consider the technological differences at all. If there is only one thing I can think of that is inferior to the Tesla it is the finish quality. After all, if Tesla produces its vehicles with the technological level of Hyundai and others, then its price will be about 25% cheaper than others. Come on, be serious and when you mention Tesla in your review, mention all the things you will only get in Tesla (in the simplest model) and that you won't get in any other vehicle!!

@@Itayc1 Hang on a second. Let's not get ahead of ourselves here, as most automoyive channels (I'd say 99% of them) utilise cars from the manufacturer, hence why we get early access to them, just like Tesla do for us too. I don't get "confused" by external appearance as you so eloquently put, I judge cars based on individual merit, hence the reason that when I tested the Model 3 when it was launched, I declared it a "game changer" which I still stand by. I have always credited Tesla where it is due (and do so in this video), but like it or not, there are areas where Tesla is now falling behind (as happens in the automotive industry) and legacy manufacturers are catching up, end even surpassing. That is just a fact. No one needs to point a gun at my head for me to see that. You just have to accept that as time moves on, things change, and even Tesla get things wrong. We are fans of the brand at AutoEV, but there is a difference between admiration and acknowledgment and blinkered blindness where you are unable (or perhaps unwilling) to see that someone might just be doing it better. But like I said, we won't know until we drive it, so judgement is reserved. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment however.

There are to many details copied from other brands and then turned up a notch creating some compromises that the originals solved much better. The back is the worst and definitely has to be seen in real life. Maybe the real problem is actually the front that now has a too high profile not flowing well with the back. Also guarantee you car will be future proofed .
