@@atnfn I started cycling because my knees are bad and there's alot more impact while running but I think I can still do a marathon if I slowed down. A 5 hour time comes out to about 11.5 minutes per mile. I'm sure you can walk fast and get a 11.5 minute mile. If you can run the first couple around 7 to 9 minutes it will help increase the average time per mile.

For us that couldn't run 26 miles, just move that decimal point over 2.62, have a 2.62 mile "Le Marathon", kind of like Cleeters 2.4 hours of Le Mullets. 😀

I've been training for years to get up from my recliner and run to the kitchen without tripping. Unfortunately, I always have to carefully walk back to my chair to avoid dropping my pizza or spilling my beer. Training can be so tough.

I never thought in my wildest dreams that you wouldn't conk out before you reached the finish line because what happened with your lapsed training and injuries two months prior to the marathon. Well you proved me wrong by a country mile and now I have to eat crow. Mmmmm yummy!!!! Way to go Mere for your excellent run. I have to say Matt has changed my life. I'm 38 over weight an I just quit smoking after 20 years. I see matt and his family and how he pushes everyday and I said why cant I so I'm on day 4 of my battle to save my life. But I don have to say I probably wouldn't have started if it wasn't for him. I know that sounds weird, but everyone needs that little push to get moving thanks Matt!

I just ran my first marathon 2 weeks ago, and watching you guys do it made it seem more achievable (no offense), but just seeing people whose stories I kind of know really helped me make it seem more doable. I got 4:05 this time, which was over my goal of 4:00, but I'm just happy I finished. I myself have NEVER been a runner. I have rather large breasts and it is just to painful to run. I myself am a back surgery survivor and was told quite sternly by my neurosurgeon to NOT run. I told him, no problem, I am not the running type. I do love to walk. My dog and I do a 5 mile circuit and sometimes do that twice in one day. We sleep well after that. 😁😉💜💚 GO DEMOLITIA!!
