Oh, and keep in mind the 2009 CTS-V broke the record time around the Nurburgring, and it was driven by an engineer, not a professional driver. It was, at the time, the fastest production sedan in the world.

I've owned a 2011 CTS-V for over three years now. It has over 120K miles on it. It runs awesome and uses no oil. Great cars for sure. Went out for some spirited driving this morning. So fun. Great video. I bought a 2010 CTS-V new, and sadly lost it to flooding from Hurricane Sandy. Loved that car until Sandy totaled it with Salt water up to the headrests. It was a 6 speed manual in Thunder Grey. Glad to hear these cars have held up well. I’m fortunate to have just bought its successor, a CT5-V Blackwing manual. Love it, but I’m always comparing it to my old V2. The V2’s hydraulic steeering is still better, second only to Porsche’s, which says a lot.

Got my V after a while of searching but is it normal for car to shake a bit when on park, because I mean there’s no noise other than a slight tick that comes from the bottom of the car which most likely is an exhaust leak since I can distinguish the sound of an exhaust leak and a major failure like lifter or rod nock
@OctaneSlain
4 ай бұрын
Usually a mechanical tick is always valve train noise and that's on the upper end of the engine. If you hear a tick at the bottom end of the engine, it's more than likely an exhaust leak. A knock at the bottom end is something you definitely don't want to hear. And is it just a random shake in park or constant shaking? Like a misfire?

Brand new tires all around. 255/35 front and 285/30 rear tires. - Eibach Coupe lowering springs. (They're a little noisy). - Aeroforce gauge. - Saikou Michi dual catch can setup.

I would rather get something a little newer. Less years on the road. Less mileage. Thats what really counts with cars like these that go fast. You want a car with less time on the road cuz the more previous owners the car has the more chances it has to have gotten a bad owner that would drive the hell out of it and never change the oil and keep up with maintenance.
@iraqifoodcart8447
11 ай бұрын
Exactly, but also; I'm Gonna play devil's advocate for the "Armchair Mechanic" for a moment because I've been doing tons of research on these cars recently, so hear me out and take what I say with a grain of salt. I've been looking at the CTSV and the Lexus ISF as potential cars for me to buy. I've been watching video after video, reading comment after comment, and from what I keep seeing and reading, reliability has NEVER been an issue for the ISF, whereas the CTSV, which has the option for a manual (ISF has 8 speed auto with no option for a manual), has more hp (556 compared to 416 in the ISF), and a higher top speed (200mph vs 167mph), the CTSV gets worse MPG (15-18mpg in the Cadillac; 24-27mpg in the Lexus🤯), the Cadillac has (what seems to be) questionable reliability, and it has a curb weight over 500lbs more than the ISF (just over 3,700lbs vs just over 4,200lbs), making it slower than the ISF at normal street/highway speeds due to the car needing to work harder to build momentum with all that extra weight. The supercharger definitely helps the Cadillac, but if it was NA, or the ISF supercharged, there would be no contest because the ISF would win a drag race every single time. While I hope to one day own one of these Gen 2 CTS Vs, the somewhat questionable reliability, and the fact that OP said GM was still doing recalls on these in 2021, is reallllly pushing me towards the ISF. What also doesn't help in _wanting_ the CTS-V over the ISF, is seeing all the videos of these two cars, stock vs stock, running against each other in a quarter mile, and the Lexus almost always takes the win because of how much quicker it is off the line. Sure the CTS-V will eventually pass it if you're going for a half mile or standing mile, but in a quarter mile or on the street? Much different story, and with tons of video evidence too! Lexus ISF doesn't have the option for the manual, it makes less power, and has a lower top speed, but that's a very short list of things that the ISF *doesn't* have over the CTSV, and yet, in spite of EVERYTHING I just said, there's just something about the shape and sound of the CTSV that draws me to it, like a moth to a light source.
