A few years back, I bought a dozen of the Traverse kits at a wholesale knife shop at $5.00 each! The owner was retiring and was liquidating his stock. So…I lucked out and bought every Traverse kit he had! As the kit comes, it covers shelter, fire, water collection (no purification) and signaling. As is, you could survive an overnight situation, but that’s about it. I decided to give these away to family and friend preppers as Christmas gifts after I added some components to enhance the usefulness of the kit. I used the 5 and 10 c’s of survival as my guide. Gear I added: 1/4 x 3 inch steri-Strip packet, one packet anti-biotic ointment, one splinter out(better than safety pin), one large and two small water proof bandaids, one SOL micro signal mirror, four UCO matches/striker, 10 Aqua tabs, 25’ 100 lb nylon cordage, one Wazoo fishing kit, one folding Derma safe razor knife, one folding SERE saw, one white Brightstrike button light, one good quality (made in Japan) button compass, one trick birthday candle, one folded sheet water proof paper, one golf pencil, two sheets 12x12 HD aluminum foil to make a container, one fresnel magnifier and finally, one Wazoo emergency one liter water bag that you can store and boil water in! It was a little tight, but with a lot of packing and repacking, everything listed fit in the kit container! I was pleased with the outcome and my family members and friends who got a revised kit loved them! It was a fun project for me too. I had four kits left over so I put one in my truck, one in my car, one in my tackle box and one that fits nicely in my pants and cargo pocket when I day hike. Just my two cents! Thanks for your review! Good video!

That’s awesome! That’s the greatest part of these kits they have room for a lot of expansion! Everything you put it there makes an extremely well rounded kit. The kit is pretty sturdy and I don’t have to worry about it breaking! That’s awesome you gave them out to your family and friends that’s thoughtful. It sounds like you could do a lot of thing with your rendition of the kit with the components you have added! I have my own kits I have made that I will bring to the channel eventually to show off. A lot of the components you added to yours are also in my kit! Always be prepared I love your idea it’s awesome!

I really like this kit! I whould like to add a few items, and then I will feel a lot more comfortable during a night out. And go from surviving the night to be comfortably camping light weight 😊

Yes that’s an awesome way to put it! This kit has lots of room to modify it in any way. This would be the easiest one to add to because the kit is a decent size and there’s alot of room left!

You should do a review on- "Folding Knife Survival Kit Sharpener Fire Starter Smith's Camping Pack" sold on eBay. I bought several just to cannibalize them for the components, but they are pretty good as they are.

These kits are garbage in my opinion. Better to build your own kit.

I don’t mind the kits honestly you have the ability to add or take away anything you please. I could take a kit this size and add some things to it and survive comfortably for a night for sure. That’s my skill set though. Yours may vary. Build your own kit these videos are only to show people the contents of the kit and if they could use and or adapt the kit to be used in their situation or climate. Pocket survival kits are intriguing and it’s just cool to see what components I can fit and use if I had to in a last ditch situation! It’s a challenge to see what is usable and what is not
