Thank you for this review! I admire Saatva mattresses overall, but this doesn’t seem to be the one for me I have never cared much for air mattresses and I would be concerned this mattress wouldn’t hold up over time. Thanks again!

Awesome review! But did you mention that you can flip the latex/memory foam section if you'd like? I thought I saw that on the Saatva website.

Great review! We have been looking at adjustable air mattresses and have noticed that the Solaire regularly is a recommended purchase. However we have been looking at Air-pedic since they have 6 zones instead of two and also seem to be highly recommended. Sleep number seems to get bad reviews due to the two zones, hammocking, and sleepers rolling into the center. My question is, are the two zones and the design of the Solaire enough to remedy all the issues that Sleep Number seems to have making it unnecessary to purchase a 6 zone mattress? Any guidance is appreciated!!

Hi, and thanks for the question. Did you see our written report on the Solaire? That drills down a bit more: www.goodbed.com/reviews/saatva-solaire-mattress-review/ We have not tested the Sleep Number recently, and not the "Air-pedic" at all. We can say that the Solaire is made by a reputable manufacturer with a long reputation in the industry (even though the Solaire is one of their newer models). In general, there is a limit to how "precise" the air mattress adjustments can be, so it's unclear to what degree multiple zones would improve performance for you.

Important to mention the body weight as a stomach sleeper, I'm weighing 138lb and have amazing nights sleeping on my stomach which not necessarily be as someone weighing 160lb+ I'd definitely recommend this to light weight people 👍

Hi there -- Thanks for sharing your experience. No doubt that any sleep surface will feel firmer to a lighter person than a heavier person, so I'm glad that you've found this mattress to work for you on your stomach. FYI, an even better place to let more people know about your experience as a lighter stomach sleeper on this mattress would be as a customer review. If you're willing, here's a direct link to where you can leave a review of this mattress: www.goodbed.com/review-mattress/model/solaire/ Thanks again for your comment! Have a great day.

Does the air chamber need to be refilled each evening or prior to sleeping? Does the mattress loose air during non use and does the air come out during sleep and need to be refilled. Please respond with a response regarding if "leaking" is common with all air mattresses, need to make a decision as to whether it is an option we want to pursue
@goodbed
3 жыл бұрын
Hi. No, the air chambers do not need to be refilled manually every night. You have a remote control that controls the air pressure in the mattress and will automatically re-fill with air as needed based on your setting. If you are asking if it "leaks" air over a short time so that it gets softer over a couple hours, then no -- that would be a defect if it does! That being said, with any mechanical product like this, it's possible that you could experience a tiny amount of leakage over time, especially as the mattress gets older. Even in this event though, a simple push of the button would quickly solve it. I hope that's helpful.

I've had this bed for almost a year. I don't feel that there's much difference between 50 and 15. Saatva has sent technicians to replace most of the parts but we don't notice a difference

Hi Bob -- Thanks for sharing your experience. If you watch the Softness section of this video (starting at 4:39), you'll understand why this is. With the way this mattress is designed, the number setting won't have a big effect on its softness per se (as we explain, we see the full range being just from Medium to Medium-Soft). That said, it's worth noting that the change in the spinal alignment characteristics is a bit more pronounced than this. I hope that's helpful.

After the deep freeze Texas experienced last winter, a friend had their head and feet raised when the electricity went out for 5 days. They were left sleeping in that position with the adjustable base until the electricity came back on. My question is, without electricity, does the air mattress deflate? Thank you

Hi Amy -- Thanks for your question. With any mechanical product like this, I couldn't say I'd be completely shocked if there were a little bit of air loss over an extended time period, especially as your mattress gets older. That said, by design these air chambers SHOULD only release air when you actively adjust the softness using the remote control. So you really SHOULDN"T experience a material amount of air loss during a typical power outage, or even an extra-long 5-day one. I hope that's helpful.

Love the review. For adj bed content might be good know how this mattress rates as a split king.
@goodbed

Hi Bryson. Thanks for the comment. Manufacturers almost always send us a queen size to test (we've got limited space). The features and functionality for other sizes of the bed should be exactly the same. So a Twin XL would get the same performance review. A "split king" is simply two Twin XL models side by side. Hope that's helpful!

Mike can you do loom & leaf 2024 review?
@goodbed
5 ай бұрын
Hi Heidi, thanks for your suggestion. We've been keeping a close eye on the L&L since our last review and in my view there haven't been any changes to their specs since then that would result in any material updates to our assessments. As such, I would stand by our existing review as the best resource for that product. I imagine you've already seen it, but in case you haven't, you can find it here: www.goodbed.com/reviews/loom-and-leaf-mattress-review/ As an aside, in case you're interested in any behind-the-scenes info, many review sites regularly redo their reviews every year or two. This is either just to trick Google into ranking their review over ours, or because they don't have anyone there who knows any better. Either way, those kind of reviews are very easy to do, so it doesn't cost them much to do another one. But since our reviews involve much more time-intensive testing, and require me (Mike) to personally evaluate the product in order to provide a consistent frame of reference, we prioritize our efforts on products that are either new or have materially changed since the last time we reviewed them. I hope that's helpful, and thanks again.

@@goodbed understand! The loom and leaf looks so good. But support and pressure point wise I think the new Tempurpedics are going to be a better choice for a med firm? L&L may be too soft abd the firm way too hard.

Hi @@HeidiLovesNYC. That makes sense, but for any you're serious about, I'd recommend comparing them side by side so you can more easily see the differences across all of our assessments. Here are the two Loom & Leaf models compared, and you can add any of the new Tempur-Pedic models to this same comparison (you can compare up to 5 at a time): www.goodbed.com/compare/?mod=loom-leaf-firm&mod=loom-leaf-relaxed-firm I hope that's helpful!

This doesn't sound like it would be for me. The pressure relief doesn't change that much between settings and you sink in too much for me I think plus at it's firmest you rate it a medium, that would just defeat what I look for in a bed.
@goodbed

Hi Jennifer. It's quite a cushioned mattress, regardless of the setting. Good if you are looking for a softer bed, but in our view perhaps not firm enough if you prefer a firm bed.

Does the pillow top zip completely off, for instance if I wanted to take it to the dry cleaner? (Whether or not that’s actually recommended)
@goodbed
3 жыл бұрын
Hi there -- Thanks for your question. I'm afraid I don't remember whether the cover zips all the way off, so I'd suggest checking with the company on that one. Either way though, I would also ask them whether it can be dry cleaned. The quilt material is sewn directly into the cover, so I'm not sure how that material would respond to the dry cleaning process. Sorry we can't be of more help on this one.

Hi Kevin -- Thanks for sharing your experience, and I'm very sorry to hear about the delays. It's helpful for us to know about such things. That said, in case you aren't already aware, it's worth noting that the entire mattress industry is experiencing massive delays right now, stemming from supply chain disruptions with springs, foam, AND fabric (all for different reasons), as well as the impact of COVID on labor and manufacturing. When combined with high levels of demand, I'm afraid it's made for a perfect storm of sorts. That said, it sounds like the company did not appropriately set your expectations for this, which I can certainly imagine would be very frustrating. In any case, thanks again, and I hope that's at least somewhat helpful.

The delivery guys said “you have to contact Saatva and have them send you all that...HUH?
