Great video Matt, no tech involved in cooking, just the good old fashioned bbq over the fire and the billy over the coles, how camping has been for decades before all the fancy 12v tech nonsense of today

Nice area that. Good to hear about ol' Joe - more than I knew. The freight trains are a max of 1.8 km long, restricted by the sidings further out where it's single track so they can pass. Still bloody long trains. Cheers

Cheers for sharing Matt 🍻🍻🍻awesome ground out there to camp up 👍👍👍 Lov'd the narration, olde Moondine was a cheeky fella getting his own the only way he knew how to, doesn't make it right but doesn't make it wrong in my books 🤔🤔🤔 Cheers Andy 🍺🍺🍺

A couple of years ago I sent a night at Elatchbutting Rock. From there I went through to Westonia. A little north west of Westonia on Stoneman Rd there is a large cleared area with an old well. There is a sign at the well which mentions Moondyne Joe frequenting the area.

Pork steaks for dinner! Pork is an underrated meat in my opinion, so juicy and tasty when cooked right. I’m very food motivated, love me tucker! Beautiful spot by the way. Moondyne Joe is a fascinating character. Back in high school I did a project on him.

I lived in the Avon valley area for some years. Brutally hot in summer, freezing cold in winter. Maybe 4 weeks in a year you could go camping like this and survive 😉 Now ive moved right next to that train line and i can verify they sound like a devil's beast howling through the night.
