I guess the problem with this whole "are you ok" is i get the impression that others honestly dont actually care.. it comes down to each person having their own issues/problems so why would they care about anyone elses.. sad isnt it.. Its like each to their own. I do wish people would care about each other more.

I personally think are you okay day is a gimmick. I can't stand people spreading it all over their social media on that single day just to show they are decent people. Yet the rest of the year you see nothing. I agree with you blokes need to have these conversations a lot more frequently & people that are suffering need to forget the stigma that blokes have to be tough and suck it up princess. That's why I made the video opening up about the worst & most private things going on in my life. Because if we can do that on camera for the world to see then it might encourage more people to open up to their mates. I've struggled with mental illness for years and always bottled everything up because we are taught that's what blokes are supposed to do. But now I can't show any emotion to anyone. I'm dead inside. It's not good to hold it all in. Everyone needs someone to talk to. Camping is a perfect place for it. Your out there with your mates with no one else around. I did it this weekend and so did the mate I was camping with. It feels great talking about what's going on. Most people only see the positive things you want them to see on social media. Trouble is social media isn't real

Good video on the topic Matt. Mental health can be a nasty thing. I am not a metal health "sufferer" as such. I live with someone who's diagnosed with mental health. My wife does get treatment for it. But there are so many ups and downs, it affects absolutely everything. I work 12-hour shifts on an irregular roster. Every time when I come home from work, I wonder, what's she going to be like. Or on my days off, what's she going to be like when she gets home from work. I do talk about it with people at work, it's good to get things off your chest at times. However, a couple weeks ago, I just had a breakdown at the start of my shift, got send home. I have sought "professional" help, only to be told, there's not really much I can do for you. It looks like you are doing the right things. I wish I could take some "time out" get away from it. However, we've got an 8 year old I gotta think about too. Yep, it sure isn't easy.

Hmmmm, it's a good point about not filming all the time but I am so addicted to it now that I have forgotten how to go away and not have a camera in my hand throughout the day. I'm not sure I could go away and not take all the gear, I would be so bored and I know that is a bad thing. Already thinking about our annual trip to the south west before Christmas and the thought of going without the camera gear is well unthinkable... One thing I have learned about depression (and I have been suicidal earlier in my life) is that it does seem to release its hold on you as you get older.

Just had a week away with mates doing nothing but talking sh.t over coffees or beers and burning a bit of diesel. Not remote this time but it didn't matter. It's just a good thing to be able to do. As for solo stuff it's good for some and not so good for others...for me, I have spent many years doing the solo bit but also with plenty of groups and enjoy both. Keep up the good stuff and take care of yourself and...talking sh.t with mates is good for the soul...and you end up solving just about all the problems of the world if only someone would take notes.

Great video as usual, but no true-er words spoken the stigma of being a man is to tuff it out no matter what to save face as being weak is just rubbish it takes a man to realize they are human and now and then we need help to sort the rubbish out, it do's not mean you are weak it means you are strong in the sense you need to sort the cards out in the deck and get on with the game of life, and not cut the deck in half and throw it in the bin and life as well. If you need to ask a mate if he OK then you don't talk much or you see something going on that made you ask the question? instead ask them out for a drink , lunch or even a camp over night do something physical to show you are thinking of them and that you are there as a mate to cross those scary bridges, those cloudy days so they can approach the next one in a better out look that you might just be on the other side. sorry for the blurb but love your vid's keep them coming, in your time not ours 😇

Just like me last weekend mate. I went out fishing with full intent on filming a video. But once I sat down with a 🍺 in hand and the rod in the water I thought "stuff it I'm going to have one weekend where I don't film anything & just enjoy being outdoors. I also go solo camping every weekend and as you said it's great going camping anytime but I'm also really looking forward to camping with you boys for something different rather than just myself every weekend 🤣 half the time since I've been here. I hop in the 4wd on a Saturday morning and start driving with absolutely no plans at all where I'm going to camp that night & it's amazing. Sorry to hear you got stuffed around mate. But at least you found a camp 👍

Great Video, and very Important points, it's always easy to palm off not catching up with your mates for various reasons, I find I do it because I don't have children and three of my best mates, 2 I have treated like brothers for years, since we met in high school, but all 3 have young families and children, so you naturally follow the narrative in your head " They Have Priorities to their Wives and Children, they come first, I won't bother them as when I usually get in touch they are always too busy to catch up". But when that happens we need to kick ourselves up the ass and Say " You know it's hard for them to get out to catch up, so just go to them, arrange a time, whether it's 30 mins, and afternoon or a whole day, but make the effort because it's ten times more effort for them when they have family responsibilites". Thankyou for sharing this, I'm personally using this to make more time and effort for mates time, rather than alone time when I'm not with my Partner, becuase its just easier.
