At the time of Watching this video 6 people have given it a thumbs down ? .... Lol whats not to like ? ... Fantastic location full of wildlife and scenery , Old School authentic kit, Very informative and descriptive commentary ( even took the time to add descriptive text ) I can only assume that the 6 people clicked the thumbs down by mistake 🤣 Great video, Bought a Lavvu based on this video, I’m moving up to the west coast in the spring and can’t wait to try mine out 👍🏽

Size is the same for all of them. Its a polish lavvu poncho. You need two ponchos (minimum) for a tent. You can use 3 for a bigger tent.

. Hi! Good video. I like this tent also. Sligh note. In polish we don't have and use that word: lavvu ;-). We speak Polish for it: pałatka (read: p.a.w.a.t.k.a, better check the pronunciation of a word on translator) Lavvu.. is a Sami tent, a kind of tipi, lower tipi, more resistant to strong wind and this is a word from the Sami language (Scandinavian Lapland). Funny journey of words, verbal/naming mess. We (Polish people) made the military raincoat which is called "pałatka" (two are made into a tent), and there is a word for it in English: tipi, tepee but almost everyone calls it: "lavvu" - Sams tent. So the name "polish lavuu" give's U polish sams tipi/tent ;-)

Well done mate. I know you said you have seen some lavvu vids, so hopefully in the works your are planing for... Zip at the font, Hanging loop at the top apex (even though you do not have many trees), Webbing loops close to grommets (grommets do get pulled out), some sort of flue jack. Cheers

Thanks mate. I will be using this in woodland as well, I've many more excursions planned and the landscape around here varies dramatically over very short distances. I've got a good idea of exactly what I want to do I just need to fix my sewing machine. Thanks again!

The lavvu is a multipurpose piece of gear. I replaced the tent pole with 2 sets of telescopic tarp poles(a bit pricey option) 3 to 8 feet. I carry 2 poles strapped to my pack solo with the other two as walking sticks. Tied at the tips they form a tipi frame with the tent staked out. It works best with a partner to bring all 8 poles. But 4 do work good enough solo.

Buy some cheap plastic drop cloth. Cut out a square to wrap unused fire wood. Find a cranny to stash it in and use next time.

Hi, I suggest you look at Simon a bloke in the woods, modifications, they are awesome, wish I lived nearer him,so I could get him to do both my wife`s and mine. We are coming up your area. to do the 500 in October and yes we are crazy, as we are wild camping the whole time in them +tarps. Have subscribed, you are lucky to be there,I am sure it`s hard work, but it is a way of life. Great video will watch your others, thanks Mike and Julie Ps I am Sixty three years young.

Hi great video , fantastic location, just a quick tip for keeping your inside totally waterproof , put the lavu up the correct way , you have it inside out mate so the shoulder flaps should be on the outside Same as if you were wearing it. It is there for extra rain proofing. Keep up the good videos.

Used to live on the West Coast of Scotland, such a joy isnt it!. I have my new lavvu ready and waiting to go back up highlands with a down sleeping bag. I only pad £53 for mine and it packs so small apparently. Saving for the luxe folding stove as only a wee lass with a bad back.
