That's exactly what I have, Galaxy Note 4 with Otter case. It's still ticking like new. The only complaint about the phone is not with the phone but with the battery. It runs out of juice fairly quickly even with a new battery installed. Note 4 has a removable battery unlike the iPhone crap. iPhones are an expensive disposable, and glass cracks too easily.

The hangup I keep having is power. Small solar is one thing, but stepping up any starts getting so pricey, bulky, and fragile. Is there any portion of the SHTF community in particular I should be looking for for compact heavier duty dynamo-style power generation? The $15 emergency radios manage the minuscule power requirements there, but... something a little more robust and with a higher wattage?

Thanks for the review! I have been giving a hard look at the Kyocera Dura Force Pro 2, however, the XP8 may be a better option for me.
