Hi, do you know whether these DCR-PC camcorders record time/date stamps in the corner like the older cameras do like the Hi8's for example. I've just bought a DCR-PC2E and there doesn't seem an option to do so, I would really like that feature. Thanks in advance

Ceez Sees hey! I know what you mean but no sadly it doesn’t. All digital units record date and time by standard and you can see it but only if you play the video and select time/date info button on remote or by going into menu. It doesn’t show by default like the old 8mn units as they recorded it physically on screen where digital doesn’t sadly.

@@epicchris1985 Hey thanks for your reply, Man thats so annoying, I paid £60 for it and had to buy batteries for it too. Do you know if thats the same for the Digital 8 Handy-cam range of camcorders? like the DCR TRV models? I'm guessing it applies to all the Digital camcorders right?

Ceez Sees ohh no that’s a shame. Well hopefully it’s working well at least. Yes same for digital 8 units, all stored digitally to see if you select it to on playback

@@epicchris1985 okay thanks for the reply. Yes the unit is pretty immaculate, just 'too modern' for what I'm looking for. I do really like the size of it though. I'll have to decide what to do with it. Thanks again

How did you convert the footage to MP4? Any tips. Just won a DCR-PC9E on Ebay, it will come with AV and USB cable. :)

Emily Botham Hello. With all my cameras I connect them to my iMac via FireWire, though because I have a newer iMac I need to use Apple converters to go from FireWire to usb-c. Then to capture I use final cut x. If you have a windows computer you’ll also need to use FireWire from the camera to your pc and the usb won’t do video capture. If your pc doesn’t have FireWire you can get converters:)
