Traditional style mixed vegetables sambar is presented in this video. We can add any vegetables available at home. Here we added pumpkin, mangalore cucumber, potato, raw bananas, carrots, tiny onions and tomatoes. The taste of sambar mainly depends on the spices we add and their quantities and also the frying method. Spices added here are Kashmiri red chillies, urad dal, methi, dhania seeds, jeera seeds, hing, curry leaves and coconut oil for frying. All the spices must be fried in low flame. The fried spices ground fine with grated coconut. This paste is added to cooked toordal vegetables and boiled well. We can fry the masala instantly as shown here or sambar powder can be made ready with same quantity of ingredients.
