Lovely afternoon ride by my wife and I to go visit my aunt who lives southwest of London. Video starts with a few stills. The 32-mile trip departed Waterloo at 3:29p and arrived in Ash Vale at 4:11p. In-transit stops featured on the video are Clapham Junction, Woking, and Brookwood. There is a brilliant side-by-side action with another Southwestern Railway train for 3 minutes after leaving Woking.
Station Facts:
Waterloo - With 94+ million passengers annually going through it, Waterloo Station is the busiest railway station in the UK and the 15th busiest in Europe.
Clapham Junction - Is the busiest railway station in Europe by the number of trains using it with over 2,000 trains daily with over half of them stopping at the station.
Upon departing the Class 450 train at Ash Vale, I noticed that the first 8 carriages of the train had the Second Generation (2000-2017) Blue & Orange Livery and the last 4 carriages all had the current generation (2017-) White and Navy Blue livery. The Ash Vale station is one with shorter platforms so only the front 8 coaches in any train can operate there.
Don’t forget… See it, Say it, Sorted!
