7:56 Dickey is digging down deep for this vocal. Dickey was obviously very happy with the performance going on around him. He was feeling it. His enthusiasm is a joy to watch.

I always loved Dan Toler's playing. He did great work with Greg Allman. I don't get all the bad-raps he gets for being a "poor man's Dickey Betts". I think Toler was one of the best players of that whole idiom.

The kid? Do you mean Duane? And the word you meant to use was bored. Duane could not be a board, but he could have been bored. I think Dickey ran off most of the people around him over the years. He had such a great band in 2002 and then he changed the lineup. It was great to bring Dan Toler back. Mark Zeiner was a weak singer and this other guy was probably the better talent. The band was completely different by 2004 and at that time the band wasn't the same at all. I think in Dickey's mind he never had the band around him that he had wanted. I don't think Dickey realized how good his band sounded back in 2002. I saw him twice that year in Jax, FL. I think Dickey wanted to give Duane some limelight and exposure. I also think Dickey wanted to have his son with him and why not. Duane did seem like he was there to look after dad. Dickey did slow down later. I think Dickey had a stroke near the end back when he had the thick beard. Something changed and he seemed to be a little lost and overwhelmed. I think he had a mini stroke. He had others later. If it is true that he had a stroke, he might not have even gone to the doctor. A person can have a mild stroke and not realize it.

It's incredible that some people drool over this. This is a terrible version, all the solos are lousy and uninspired, a funky version does not work for a country feel. Awful version, it could be a rehearsal, not much excitement in the few people in the audience ;)
