My favorite album of the 20s so far. The lead singer of the album quit the band 2 days prior the release day. The band now uses 3 of the members as singers. They released a live performance showcase with new songs and they are just as good as their previous projects.

i disagree about the live album being as good as their previous album, the songwriting is a lot less interesting and no one can really replace what isaac did

The live album is great considering the context that they had to throw the songs together at short notice for their live tour, but I wouldn't say it's on par with the first 2 albums.

Amazing album! I'd highly recommended their first album, also the new live album they just dropped is absolutely amazing too. Also since you're getting into this band I'd also recommend another band from the same area called "black midi", they've played with each other a lot and they're both two of the best bands in the world right now. Great video, keep it up!

So rad seeing you react to this! I've been a bit rabbit-holed on a few bands in the past decade or two (like Radiohead), and at the end of last year I decided to start being a bit more adventurous, reached out to my friend who introduced me to Radiohead and asked for things he was listening to. Black Country New Road was one of them, and it was so alien to me I just bounced off it hard. Came back to it a month ago and was like "holy crap this is amazing, what is wrong with me??" :P So it's great seeing you react to them, as well as all your Radiohead adventures :) My other discoveries: Big Thief (may well be my favourite band after Radiohead now), Mitski, Better Oblivion Community Center, Warpaint, The Beths, Wet Leg. Feels kinda great to get out of my comfort zone!

You should check out Swans. They're a band that has evolved a lot since the 80s, from releasing noise rock to goth folk to a soundtrack for a film that doesn't exist and especially their more drawn-out albums from the 2010s, they're a truly special band. The number one album to check out is To Be Kind, their most infamous work, released in 2014. It is an album full of grooves, energy, atmosphere and crescendos. This album changed my perspective of music from being cool sounds to magical and captivating experiences. Definitely check em out.
