spicy Thai fruit salad recipe | Get your Thai fix | Fitous Thai Kitchen
Hi everyone today we've got an easy dish that requires absolutely no cooking. It's bursting with flavour and spice and can be paired with a multitude of other dishes.
This is another cracker of a dish!!!
Simple, fresh, healthy and packed full of flavour.
Simple tutorial with Chef Pi Tou showing us how to prepare the various ingredients for Spicy Thai fruit salad otherwise known as Som Tum Pon La Mai from start to finish.
Here's the recipe:
whatever fruit you want to use, we used:
pineapple, blueberries, red and green apples, red and green grapes and strawberries.
I find that fruits that are a mixture of sweet and sour work best to keep the flavours balanced.
3 cloves of garlic
2 Tbsp dried shrimp
3 Tbsp fish sauce
3 Tbsp tamarind sauce
Juice from one lime
Handful of roasted cashew nuts
5-8 red birds eye chilli
1 Tbsp palm sugar

As with all Asian cooking this is a rough guide with regards to amounts, adjust for your own taste and spice tolerance.
If you want to make it spicier then toast birds eye chillies instead of large sweet chilli.
Good luck and let us know how you get on.
Enjoy!!!!!!!
