Nice video. I love using straps for weighted dead hangs for the grip issues mentions in the video, it helps hold on to those heavier weights for longer allowing a greater decompression.

Nice video. I have a bad back & have also had neck surgery & I have tried many things. I had a tilting table to hang upside-down but I didn't use it much & sold it because it was very uncomfortable having all the blood rush to my head. I like hanging from a back extention machine because I'm only upside-down from my waist to my head so my head doesn't feel like it's going to explode. Another trick that I've found to align my spine is to roll on a basketball up & down my spine. You can adjust the pressure on your spine by adding or reducing the air pressure of the basketball. Some chiropractic tables have rollers that go up & down your spine & that's how I got the idea of using a basketball. I also do allot of bar hanging for my back & shoulders, it works great.

Hey man, what was the cause of having to have neck surgery? Indeed, its still easier to just hang! I must say the gravity boots, you get used to them too.

Hanging by your arms doesnt decompress your spine..your back muscles take most if not all of the weight...so it's just from your hip joint down that hangs...

Semi true! It does decompress the shoulders and lower back. But for mid back, you're better off hanging upside down! It does help to try and relax you back muscles too.

I think you have the generic gravity boots? Same ones I have but the problem with them is they are excruciatingly painful after like like 30 seconds of handing. Good for training your pain tolerance I suppose but it does feel like your ankles are gonna get destroyed lol. Do you have the same experience when using them?

Love the video…yea love hanging upside down using my gravity boots or inversion table. Much better stretch using gravity boots and you can fully hang for a great long stretch. Great looking abs exposed too 😜

Hey, can we use gravity boots on the wrist for normal hang?

Depends on how manly your wrists are 🤣 but to be honest, no. The boots rely on the ankle and foot to stay put. They do make hooks like that for your hands though!

One method more : elastic band fixed to your feet and to wall. You're crawling backward - laying on your back - as much as you can, then shaking a little your legs to let them move back when pulled by the tape. Then stability phase comes and you can lay waiting (and reading or listening to audiobook) when your spine is decompressed.

How long is a good start time?

Any time really! Its progress that matters! If you can't do a pull up: 10 seconds is already impressive. 30 seconds is good a couple of months into training and from there on, there is no limit! 😊 How much could you do the first time?
