.5 DIAMETER ENDMILL SFM X 3.82 / DIAMETER = RPM 200 SFM X 3.82 / .5 DIAMETER = 1528 RPM RPM X FEED PER FLUTE X NO. OF FLUTES = IPM 1528 RPM X .004 PER FLUTE X 4 FLUTES = 24.5 IPM 3.82= 12/PIE

Thanks for sharing your knowledge great teaching videos, I can't find any specs on my tools for the fipt (inches per tooth) so should I use the same value for all, even if it's different on diameter?

.002"/ tooth is pretty mild, for most applications it should be pretty safe....the thing to remember about Feed rate is that the calculations give general starting conditions, but speed and feed should be adjusted based on how well that particular tool is cutting.

Is there a massive difference between inches and millimetres for the feedrate calculation?

well 1in = 25.4mm...if you keep that in mind it shouldnt be an issue. but the formula will work equally for imperial or metric units.
