i just had a realization when you mentioned buying all of the brown merit eyeshadows- that is SO helpful because when shades are kinda similar to each other it can be hard to tell the difference! but with you searching and explaining them i hear about the formula and can also make a more informed decision between colors that maybe look super similar in the product pics or like when a product looks color in one pic and then a totally different color on trendmood or something. idk if that makes sense but hopefully so!

I am annoyed about brands only putting certain shades in minis! Charlotte tilbury only has a few shades in the HWFF. I’m the shade 4 which is olive, so maybe that’s why it’s not in a mini. I always had a theory they pick the best selling shades to put in minis. Or they just pick one from each depth category 🤷♀️
@helenap3822
7 ай бұрын
It is definitely the best-selling shades through a range that are "ported" to mini sizes. I'll try to phrase this in a way that makes sense, but no guarantees lol. It's simple practicality: it's less about having more components/packaging to deal with (that's the initial hurdle of minis), and more about the *physical space* that additional SKUs take up, and the additional associated costs. Similarly to why so many brands don't cater to full skin tone ranges *at all*: manufacturers have order quantity minima, retailers can only fit so much product on shelves, etc. Space in warehouses is at less of a premium than in stores, which is why there are some products with certain shades (full-size and/or miniature) that are only sold online. There is little incentive for brands to create products that won't sell through, and unfortunately, consumer demand doesn't always match up with the economies of scale that make companies profitable. You know what I mean? Like, it's not that there aren't any people wanting to buy shade 4 in a mini-it's that, according to the company's data and market research: there aren't *enough* people wanting to buy shade 4 in a mini to justify the expense of ordering thousands of dollars worth of them, designing and creating planograms that will fit that shade on retailers' gondolas, shipping the product around the world-all for them to sit on the shelf, gathering dust, because there's only a handful of customers in that particular area who would buy that product, and they may or may not go into that store and buy it! Money and resources wasted.

The Milk blushes are gimmicky BUT I love the one I got. It looks BEAUTIFUL on bare skin and doesn’t slide off my oily skin. The Milk blushes are way easier to work with than I initially anticipated, too. I’ve found a bit of a strange use for it though…usually i work hard to cover the rosacea on my cheeks before going back in with blush. This stain allows me to literally not do ANY complexion coverage, and just pop it right on top of the rosacea and it looks intentional. This is really interesting to hear! Wow Kackie you’re definitely ‘not just another beauty guru’… I couldn’t agree more with everything you said. I work in high tech and painfully aware of the manipulation involved behind the scenes. I think the whole ‘clean girl’ schtick is a scam cooked up by marketers to sell more products more often, since they go bad really quickly. Therefore I now barely buy anything from Sephora, as they’ve removed all my fave brands and replaced them with clean and celebrity makeup lines. No thanks 💩 I literally went from years of Rouge to not even VIB in one year. I now buy directly on brands’ websites. My new favorite foundation is Cover Girl Simply Ageless 3-in-1 foundation. I stumbled upon it after watching Robert W. rave about the cream version. The cream is nice but very full coverage, the liquid is just enough for me. The shade range does rather suck, I’m not sure if there’s a level of ‘shade adjusting’ capability or whatever. I like it just as much as my Dior Backstage Face and Body, and it’s $10.

Personally I didn't like your reviews since it does not seem to be informative but eather a personal preference. For example, the makeupforever shade range - anybody with two brain cells can figure out the shade. It's less complicated than Mac or Armani, or even hourglass. If something is called 'alabaster' I have no idea what that means. 1N02 vs 1N06 in Makeup forever makes it super simple to figure out a shade match. Furthermore, you talk about 'oh it settles into pores', I didn't like their other ones! But you don't seem to realise that everyone has different types of skin and different definition of perfect coverage. You could have commented on the quality of the product and who it would be good for rather than "I don't like it, I'm a simple white girrrl" stance. Sounds so unprofessional and biased.

Oh question though -- do you like the merit eyeshadow or surrate eyeshadow pots better? If had to choose one to buy - opinion please 😊

Thank you for discussing the Haus Labs lip glaze! I bought one (in “persimmon”) and have been loving it, but was surprised that I haven’t seen it mentioned by creators I watch until now. Appreciate you weighing in. 😺
