You mentioned that you were probably the oldest Sportster S rider, let me suggest you're the second oldest rider. My name is Jim Meeks, I've been riding cycles off and on for 70 years. This January, I HAD to purchase a Sportster S. There was no way I would let that bike go by. I recently just had my 84th birthday this summer, and I'm enjoying my Sportster S, riding all over Minnesota!

@@simfishsho I owned 2 V-rods over11 years and really like the 1250 cc liquid cooled motor that Harley basically tested and perfected in the V-rod before adding the new technology and putting it in the Pan America and Sportster S. I also love Sportsters, I've owned 3 of those as well. So, the Sportster S with the 1250 motor in a Sportster size frame was the best of both worlds for me. Basically the same stock horsepower as my second V-rod but 150lbs lighter. If I was going to have a second bike it would be the Nightster.I had a 2007 Nightster with the air cooled 1200.

I did remove the clip under the handlebars that holds the brake line. After I put the riser on last week I find that there is still slack in the brake line at full turn to the right but when I turn the bars full left it is tight and although it hasn't given me any issues I am considering getting the longer brake line just for peace of mind.
