Great video. This is the part that many people fail to clean because of out of sight out of mind. I usually give the underside a clean throughout winter to stop salt from building up. Then a decent clean this time of year. Jon, you should use Martin's ramp and do a video of a underside clean and Bilt Hamber Dynax SC50 and Dynax UC. SC for parts and chassis rails you can't see and UC for areas that are more visible.

My process is use a 5L pump sprayer to apply Surfex HD at 7% concentration, leave it for a few minutes. Use the patio tool upside down to rinse it off. Drive the car for a few days to ensure it's dry. Apply Lanoguard all over and the Lanoguard grease on most exposed parts, sub-frame and bolts. I do this every other year. The off years, I just rinse it with the pressure washer and the patio tool accessory. I did this to my 17 year old TT famous for getting rusty and kept it looking like a 2 year old car.

Cool video John👍💪 you've mentioned Lanoguard on one of the comments, you've probably seen them selling it with a sprayer that comes with a short hose enought to stretch out and spray the whole undercarriage, just requires a simple pressure rinse as long as there are no heavy dirt particles works well and works on all surfaces on the undercarriage💪 options options

I use the Karcher under car cleaner, filled with Bilt Hamber Surfex HD neat, which works wonders as it self-mixes, that is then followed up with Autobrite direct Magifoam prewash, rinsed off, the final stage is a good coating of Bilt Hamber Atom Mac. If there's any rust I then go over those bits with Dynax S50 If I've been driving near the coast a lot, as it holds up against salt water better or ACF50 both applied via a compressed air sprayer, for maximum atomisation.

How do you like that AVA pressure washer Jon? I wish they sold those here in the USA. My Karcher K5 just died and I am in the market for a good pressure washer and would love to have one of those top of the line AVA units! Those things look absolutely incredible and with all those innovative attachments and ways to store the hoses, etc. I would definitely get one of those things. I don't know what the power requirements would but it probably wouldn't match up with our grid here in the USA with the voltage differences. Unless they sell them in Canada? I'll have to do some checking. Great information on the spring tips also Jon. I'm in the time frame where I am going to do my full spring cleaning on my Nissan 370Z and get it ready for summer use. The undercarriage is an area that many detailing enthusiast overlook. I knew guys who had the most pristine looking car of anyone I know, and then I go look at the underside and it's COVERED in road gunk! I do exactly what you are doing here about once a year. The other times I use one of those undercarriage washers you hook up to a pressure washer to spray off as much of the gunk as I can in between. I usually spray it down using a foam lance, let it dwell, and then go underneath with the jet rinse attachment on wheels that slides underneath the vehicle. They actually work fairly well to be honest just to get the majority of the road debris off the bottom.

m8 my little p55 go is the one I use. the gear that comes with the AVA, like the new lances, short trigger guns, the extentions arms etc.. its solid and good quality for what is a consumer product. find me a better lance that comes free with any pressure washer for example. Also comes with heavy duty rubber hose. has 450lhr at 145 psi I think. And they were selling it for 155 quid. and 10 year warrenty. no one will ever compete with that. In fact I think its 250 quid now for the bundle, they literally sold them all.

@@leedixon5007 Although I mainly use a Karcher K4 as it is soft enough for my motorbike, my new K7 is slightly more powerful but it's noisy. My neighbour's AVA P60 has sort of the same pressure but a lot quieter. So I would say AVA. If you go on each manufacturer's website, they normally have the decibel levels and power consumption.
