Beskid Żywiecki mountains gave me a truly changeable spring weather. Rain, hail, fog, sun, cloudless sky, rain again, fog, sun and so on. A real weather spectacle. I was prepared for such eventuality and this time I chose one of the mountains logcabin as my destination.
Walking along the trail I had the opportunity to admire the nature awakening to life, presenting all shades of green. The vegetation emanated freshness. From everywhere I could hear birds singing, which became quiet for a while when the clouds started to rain heavily.
I love such climate.
After an hour of hiking I reached a wooden hut with a brick oven. The cottage turned out to be occupied by young boys spending their weekend in the mountains. I decided not to disturb them and moved on.
After several minutes of walking I reached a large Beskid clearing. There were birches and spruces growing in places. Low grass was mixed with blueberry bushes. At the end of the glade I noticed a hut, which after a while disappeared behind the approaching cloud. I moved towards it. In less than two minutes, the clouds revealed blue sky and rays of sun. Due to the rising temperature everything around started to evaporate.
I reached the cabin. After resting for a while I set off to look for wood. The task was unexpectedly easy. Below the hill there was a tree-felling taking place. Taking the opportunity I collected smaller and bigger pieces of firewood. I found a few fallen dry spruce trees, from which I obtained wood rich in resins, which was perfect for kindling.
With the help of flint and birch bark I made a fire. For dinner I decided to prepare fried steak with date tomatoes, red onion and chives. I seasoned the whole with pepper and salt. The rain prevented me from eating, I added to the fire so that it would not go out and took shelter under the roof of the hut.
A few minutes later, the rain stopped and again the sun came out from behind the clouds.
The day was coming to an end, the clouds presented beautiful mosaics in the sky, until finally the rain broke for good. I hid in the shelter.
On the next day the show of changing weather had no end. The sun greeted me, after a while the wind brought clouds and again rain. I prepared wood, fetched water from a spring and lit a fire. I threw some spruce branches into the kettle, which gave the tea a delicious aroma. I ate a modest breakfast, cleaned up the camp and packed my backpack.
I set off down the mountain. On the way back I visited a wooden hut standing near the trail.
It was a very successful weekend!
With Greetings!
