This is a staple when it comes to Srilankan Malaysians. This is made for all the celebratory meals and even on the weekends to make the meal extra special. This is a rice puller and and usually a side dish but a necessary side dish if at all.
Ingredients:
•1kg of beef buy one full chunk and cut it into large flat pieces. Make sure you cut across the grain.
For the marination:
•1 Tbs of chilli powder.
•1 Tsp of pepper powder.
•1/2 Tsp of Curry powder.
•1 inch ginger and 2 cloves of garlic smashed together .
•1 small onion chopped.
•1 small piece of pandan.
•Water just enough to cover the meat.
•2 Tbs of coconut vinegar.
•1 cup of coconut or vegetable oil for frying.
Mix all the ingredients together and boil the meat till it's soft and good enough to eat. Depending on the size of the meat this may take about 15 to 20 minutes time.
